Wow good to see Azumanga Daioh here :D
I'm OK with this list.
Good stuff
triti
uhmmm is that a tattoo on Yui's thigh or is that herpie blister?
Plot
I second this
I third this.
Azumanga started the entire Genre.
I only know of Lucky star... and hell with the rest, I just assumed Mitsudomoe would be there pfft..
at least i got un epic head shots as a trade off?
You missed out on some epic lols in that case...
I fourth this.
Also happy to see Azumanga Daioh on the list, although a little disappointed it only ranked 6th.
The name's a bit awkward, isn't it?
But it's still relatively low for some newer series..
Nichijou simply a type B slice of life? Pft!
That show has better action than some big-budget action titles, and is an excellent gag-comedy as well.
Nichijou = Super Azumanga Daioh II Turbo Championship Edition HD Remix
I agree, but props to nichijou being good in many possible ways.
It seems that Clannad got omitted from da list this tiem,.. bummer
Maybe because it's a romance/drama and not a slice of life? I suppose Code Geass, Attack on Titan, and Madoka Magica were unfairly omitted as well?
It is definitely slice of life, just as much as it is drama. But maybe its considered a type A show.
That being said, I've never quite understood that type A/B classification. It seems pretty blurry to me, or even contradictory.
The "definition" says Type A values "direction, voice acting, art", while Type B likes moe and judges shows based on "which seiyuu are in it and what the characters look like".
Then what type, for example, something like Bakemonogatari supposed to fall under? It has a distinct unusual art style, that'd appeal to type A. It has fanservice, that'd presumably appeal to type B. And it mostly runs on character interaction, which fits neither, because A doesnt care about characters and B only cares about their seiyuu and cuteness.
Can someone explain this to me?
They are largely independent dimensions, with A working from the top down (from objectives toward methods), and B the other way around. You don't directly restrict attention given to one of these approaches when you adhere to the other.
But since for practical purposes (promotional ramblings) it is customary to align the definition itself more with the type B specs, a local snapshot of a certain status quo is taken, and the prevalence of traits becomes the ordering principle - arriving at what you brought. Quite near the extreme no less, because one can think of intermediate levels as well. These could be for instance: A - the authors being egocentric about reception, B - reaching out to the audience. And a level further - A - appealing with intrigue, B - with coziness.
no Hyakko ??? fail list i did say
It failed massively in Japan but I agree it's a great series.
Not suprised to see K-on as #1
if yotsubato was ever an anime it would be number 1
Possibly, but it could end up with a feel as different as in the manga and anime versions of Joshikousei, for instance.
Any list with K-ON! at the top has to be a good one.
I haven't seen any of these other ones, but I will now watch this list from top to bottom starting with a rewatch of K-ON!!!
LETS GO!
In all honesty, being higher on this list is kind of an insult to the anime in general, be glad if the slice of life anime you enjoy is not on this list. :P
Fuck! I haven't got 8 out of 10!
Btw, is there an extended list?
Type A people sucks.
Wow, now this is a list I cant argue against. Good job in my opinion.
Ok list except the order.
0. Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu ( or is it more of an A-type?)
1. Working!!
2. Minami-ke
3. Azumanga Daioh
4. A-Channel
5. Ichigo Mashimaro
6. Hyakko
7. Nichijou

I don't mean to troll, but why the blond one on the left can't trim her fuckin eye brows ?
seems like some people love them....... (wonder why...)
If Mickey mouse wasn't black and stopped wearing red shorts/yello shoes, would he still be Mickey Mouse?
Trying to weigh it in?
can you epic lol here?
asshole?
K-on firts....another epic fail ranking
Where is Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou?
Oh God...please...please...stop with K-On!!! The most overvalued anime in the history of Japan!!!
never heard of that!
K-on? whats that?
they are only hating ;P
Kimi ga Nozomu Eien would be on nr1 for me.
We could argue its a slice of life genre, as it is not a typical day-by-day type of anime but well. But its similar, though I guess mainly it should be put under "drama" categorie.
You need to look up about type B. I think you'll change your mind about putting KimiNozo on this list.
I'd personally vote for Ichigo Mashimaro too.
