    Nudity in anime also have on the 80's and 90's era, just at that time people didn't really know because internet (except for military) and UI computer didn't exist and people didn't watch the show for free unless it shows on television. Just read their Manga.

    Not all anime are aired toward kids. Kids anime doesn't involve nudity at all. Pick your own shows.

    I love how people who clearly don't even watch that much anime somehow come to the conclusion that all modern anime is only nudity from a couple minutes in a show that comparatively doesn't even have that much nudity in it.

    If you want action, why not watch Attack on Titan or something instead of short-sightedly crying about shows that aren't relevant to your interests as if they're some sort of downfall of modern anime even though they've always existed?

    Actually since the 90s, they pretty much stopped showing nudity. It's all censored for the home release now, when even comedies like Ranma had boobs in the 80s.

    There's always been ecchi fanservicey shows... Golden Boy, Junk Boy, Cream Lemon, Cleopatra. It's like pop music: Most of the cheap junk gets forgotten and we wonder what happened to the good days when our favorites were still around.

    True, there was a time when Aika was seen as ridiculous, not a template, and the core anime audience seems to have shifted hard into some really predictable stuff... but just as before, this age has its share of great titles to sustain it as well.

    (Also, demographic... If you're old enough to remember the shows I'm talking about, you probably noticed that most of the good stuff targets the 15-25 crowd and those outside that will have a lot less to relate to in anime.)

    Kind of true... I've shared Death Note with a 40 year old coworker who doesn't watch anime and he loved it. Bakemonogatari is great, but... the fanservice niches it. Ghibli is always Ghibli. There are other movies like Appleseed, Vexille, King of Thorn, Summer Wars, Dead Leaves, etc that you could show to a mainstream audience. Everyone's seen Naruto - actually, there are loads of kid-friendly current anime on TV these days. Shakugan no Shana is a solid choice. Black Lagoon is great for the teen to adult crowd. Higurashi may have some cuteness to it, but it's also not spoiled with fanservice. Remember that back in the 90s, the selection also ran from 70s to 90s, with some of the big hits like Ranma being 80s shows. Now things are translated before they hit a disc, so there's much less to choose from - you can't just reach into all of anime fandom and pull out a gem no one's heard of.

    I remember trying to share anime back in the late 90s too... After Sailor Moon, everyone thought everything was Sailor Moon. Before that, the automatic assumption was that it was all about tentacle rape. So what happened was the English market caught up with current production, and while there was a definite trend toward ecchi shows, it was just continuing from the late 80s. We've always had shows like Ultimate Teacher, Sakura Diaries and other U-Jin shows, Cutey Honey, Kekko Kamen and other Go Nagai shows, Iketeru Futari, My My Mai, Dragon Knight and half of what ADV licensed, not even counting Softcel.

    Every generation has its flood of cheap ecchi throwaways, as well as its share of classic shows without hypersexualization. Comparing Neptunia to Macross Plus is like comparing Golden Boy to Laputa.

    That's not the point. The point back there was that you could share ANIME with the absolute security of not beeing ashamed or branded as an imbecile freak. Ninja Scroll, had tits, sex, violence, and losts of creepy stuff... BUT IT WAS COOL, IT WAS AWESOME it had the quality elements of an adult hollywood blockbuster. Macross Plus, Detective Conan, Slayers, Orphen, that was some quality stuff the sign of a golden era... Now, what can you share? Key-on? Madoka? Flying little girls wearing panties? This neptunia shit? What the hell happened man!!! This is a fucking nightmare! It's fucking crazy, as the anime fandom grew older, the productions became more and more childish and sexualy creepy AT THE SAME TIME! I was ten years old, and I was cheering at Vegeta eating the beating heart of his enemies, and dismembering people all around.... Now I'm 30 and all I got to see in "anime" is kiddies dancing around in panties wearing kindergarten "costumes"???!!! WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED!!!!

    It was cool and awesome because you could tell ANYBODY: "Hey man, take a look a this", "What's this?!", "It's called anime, In those VHS a have Evangelion's Chapters, some Cowboy Bebop awesomeness, there you have Akira, Ghost in the shell, Vampire Hunter D, an more.. tell me what you think of it".... some days later, your buddy would be another anime fan spreading the word around..... That was a looong time ago, many many years ago.... when ANIME was Cool and Awesome...
