The case of a 6-year-old boy who had both his eyes plucked out so thieves could steal his corneas is the latest to outrage and disgust China.
Chinese media reports that a 6-year-old boy playing outside his Shanxi province home suddenly disappeared, only reappearing later that night collapsed in a field, where he was taken to hospital.
Police say he was kidnapped by unknown individuals, who plucked out both his eyes and left them with him in the field, minus their corneas.
As only the corneas were taken there is a strong suspicion they were stolen for sale on China’s illegal human organ market, and police are looking for a woman suspected of involvement.
The incident, extreme even by the standards of China, has been provoking a strong reaction online:

God will not always stop humans from doing what they want even if what they want to do is evil. As for the victims of whatever evil happened: Whether or not they are ever compensated for what happened to them seems to depends on how one views the subsequent remainder of their lives after the victimizing.

Corneas are very good replacement organs for cataract sufferers. Also, because corneas are typically out of reach from blood vessels, there's a much lower chance of transplant rejection.
with today's tech, we can easily make artificial corneas though.
This makes no sense considering it's an incredibly fast procedure to replace clouded lenses in the eye with artificial ones.

No, initially, the authorities reported that they were stolen. Later, they changed the story, though that seems likely to just be their government's attempt at damage control over all the notice their widespread illegal organ trade received from the story.
They need to find those people who did that and force them to work for the rest of their lives in a sweatshop or mine to fund the life of that boy
