Genjuu Shinwa Ardina, Square Enix’s latest magnum opus, continues to cement its new-found reputation for quality amongst gamers – delivering the best in Square Enix quality not to the PS4 but to their browsers…
As might be expected, the title takes the form of a free-to-play browser game due in September – the quality of recent Square Enix titles’ art apparently now being inversely proportional to their production values.

I'm just waiting for Project Phoenix to be finished.
it reach 200% the needed fund in 9 hours.
so we can expect good things from that
It's not by SquareEnix, so we can expect great things from it...
I'm still wondering why Sankaku Complex didn't report on Capcom's recent rape of the Breath of Fire brand, something that seemed to generate much more controversy than something like this, which has come to be expected and commonplace for Square Enix.
another wannabe intelligent comment by someone which tries to pass of "sancom" as a person?
Finally! A Square Enix girl with sexy abs muscles. She still doesn't hold a candle compared to Dragon's Crown Amazon-sama, mind you!
Dafuck happend to Squartle-Penix.
Pd: FF7 remake REMAKEEEEE!!!!..... dammit nobody played the rest FFs? FF6 need a real remake, and obviuslly Chrono Trigger.
This art looks pretty generic to me.
They jumped on the mobile bandwagon. And they'd be stupid not too.
Dumbass Squaresoft fans can't let the past go and can see no right.
You are an idiot, that is all.
Square enix continues t disappoint, i hope this isn't another. Companies like SEGA and Level 5 are real competitors imo.
yep i would love to play MOBAGE on my Ps4 please!
FF7 fanboys whining because there's no FF7 remake in 3...2...1...
"A classic reborn! Square-Enix presents Final Fantasy 7 HD, available on the nearest Facebook session"
? store.steampowered.com/app/39140/
Theres already a pc release o.o
beautiful art wasted on card game.
dis
square enix's slow death is painful to watch... stupid Japanese.. do you hate money so much? Remake FF7 already.
In the minds of FF7 the game has some legendary status that will NEVER be equaled. I have a feeling that even if a FF7 remake were to be made, there would be bitching by those fans who want the remake, about one or more aspects of it, with references to it not mirroring the the original.
Only FF7tards want a FF7 remake.
Its better to SE to focus in new games, like Bravely Default.
I don't see how remaking FF7 is going to save them. It is a great game, but even with its remake, I doubt it'll break any record sales. If anything, they need to stop with all these action RPG bullcrap. I wish they realize not everyone likes metrosexuals and a bunch of flashy action and no substance. Time to revisit some old territories. Wishful thinking but w/e.

Nope. You should know how the Japanese people think about our over muscle characters.
Gorilla and GAAAAAAAY!
Don't you see the most of muscle guys on Japanese games are openly narcissistic gays?
Action-RPG isn't the problem, it's their methods of experimenting with it. Square wanted Action-RPG all along, that's apparent by looking at Chrono Trigger. It's just that they've spent so much time making their turned-based strategies, they didn't develop their action combat along the way, and they're fumbling with it. Even now, they can't help but mimic successful MMOs to make FFXIV: A Realm Reborn, but even then, that game's shaping up pretty nicely for an MMO. They might actually be able to make some substantial cash flow off of it.

Things went downhill ever since Square Enix decided to go Social.
Nah, things went downhill since Square Soft and Enix fused.
nah things went already down hill when they went bankcrupt coz of spirits within
So true.
Exactly like when AOL and that other company combined!
I agree, both worked better when they were alone... It's weird that two great companies combined and only shit came out, someone must've failed in alchemy there...
that is what happens when you merge with your closest rival on the industry
A browser based game is not going to solve your financial issues.
Focus on making your console games better. Whoever is bringing up these ideas during your planning phase needs to get slapped. Hard. With a fucking baseball bat made of steel with rebar in place of nails. Because this shit? Not acceptable.
now that i think about it, they made the very first FF when they were almost bankrupt so...
maybe there's still hope...
like a small group inside saying "we're fucked anyway, let's go wild and do our best and ignore their advices"
Obviously, the sin of this social wave belongs to the gamers, casual to maniacs, all of us, but specially japanese
because the low cost social games was more profitable than offline games.
Japanese specially because Square is japanese.
Citation about japan was unecessary. Sorry.
for fucks sake. i like the character design why can we not see a legit new ip from se on console ....
Because social games what uses credit card as weapon makes more profit (cost & benefit)than normal games.
Zero effort + great profit is also known as being a ripoff... It just works because 90% of humanity is retarded.
Maybe they are out of budget

actually no, actual gamers won't even touch a social. We can tell it's bullshit before we even download it.
The so-called "actual gamers" must be of a smaller part of the whole video game industry consumer population than I thought.
I have though a lot about this over then last decade+ and I have come to a conclusion. To FF7 fans there will never be a game as great as FF7. This isn't due to their constant bitching or that "they don't know what they want".
It's because they attached some mythic status to FF7 that will NEVER be equaled. I have a feeling that even if a FF7 remake was made, there would be bitching about one or more aspects of the remake, with references to the original.
It's solely because in the minds of FF7 fans, the game has taken on some legendary aspect and nothing can compare to them.
There are other great FF games that came out before and after FF7, but for some reason FF7 was placed on a such a high pedestal by some fans that it is the one game by which all other games are judged.
Seriously try judging games on their own merits and failings. Or if you have to compare compare and contrast. No one game should set the bar for everything else, unless you truly want to miss out on many other good and great titles.
Welp, at least there are enough good JRPG's for a lifetime out there.
I went to a conference by Akitoshi Kawazu several weeks ago and everyone was asking him why Square Enix was taking this whole "social game" direction, and he simply said that it's the most profitable way and whoever doesn't think so is blind.
Meanwhile Skyrim is one of the best selling games of all time.
Well someone is mad.
Blame yourselves. "Actual gamers" bitch and moan so much and many of them don't buy anything anymore. I've seen the statistics from the inside, and it's a wonderful middle ground of everyone simultaneously bitching about things being 'not as good as they were' and 'nothing new.'
Then Call of Duty sells endlessly, and analysts give up, because gamers prove just how shallow they actually are. They don't want plot, they don't even want real gameplay, or even character development, because that would be too involved and require concentration, intelligence, and empathy.
Meanwhile, RPGers don't know what they want either, and then buy 'open world' lies that have no plot and character. Then, they make a story that's 'classic' like Tales, and people bitch about it being like all the others, then they make something 'new' like FFXIII and bitch that it's not like everything else.
So essentially, it's a market generated by hypocrites who simultaneously pretend they're not affected by marketing, and yet are generated only by marketing in general.
So Square Enix seems to have thrown up their hands to make the money they're not getting from the stuff that actually takes effort. And it's nobody's fault but ours. People blame them for making 'crappy' games now, but none of them have been crappy, just yet another let down to everyone wanting FF7, and yet bitching that it's not different from FF7.
Whatever. Hope they become multi-billionaires off this bullshit so all the whiners will know it's their own damn fault.
I don't hate FFXIII. The game was decent. However talking about story, character development, etc...it is a fact that FFXIII was not as good as the older titles. I am saying "older titles" because I sincerely believe FFVII is a great game that is incredibly overrated.
I've played some Tales games and their worlds suck compared to the good old FFs, Dark Clouds, Rogue Galaxy, Personas, Star Oceans, and a few others. Tales characters are about average, some likable some annoying, like most games. Tales overall stories are very lacking as well. The only real reason to play Tales games is for the battle system and the potential multiplayer.
No. A true gamer plays every game available.
You're right! A true gamer plays Barbie on the console!
You still using that No True Scotsman logical fallacy?
