I’ve never watched a yaoi before and I believe Free! is not marketed as one , however I feel like I’d continue watching it if actually did have some romance, even if it was man-man but I’d prefer man-women. I’ve only seen the first episode, it seems interesting but I’m worried I have nothing to look forward to as I really like romance/comedy/drama type animes. At this point I think they should do some yaoi stuff I feel like this anime could be a gateway anime to that stuff for a bigger crowd than typical yaoi anime, at least for male viewers.
This episode was in a way the least gay. There was a scene where one told the other to tell them about his first romantic encounter, and when he said that he did have a ‘Fateful encounter’, all of the other boys immediantly assumed it was with a girl.
