I don't really treat them as magical girls though. Yeah, if they should be, Precure must be on that list.
They are more like super sentai for little girls, although they do follow many of the mahou shoujo tropes too.
Precure is the most successful mahou shoujo out there. Moon had her place but the modern media paradigm really means the cures are the richest of all.

Rozen Maiden are more like robo dolls or possessed dolls .. Anything But magical girls.. unless you count voodoo reanimation as the criteria needed then i can call the bride of Frankenstein a magical girl too.. They should make a anime out of that Mahou Shoujo Frankenstein and the Undead Squad

As much as I love Rozen Maiden, you're right...it's not mahou shoujo.
There is no rule saying magical girls have to be human girls. Angels, genies, aliens, ducks, witches from their own world, and even robots like Cutey Honey are part of the genre. If they look like girls and wield magic or live up to enough tropes, that's all it takes.

Of course Prisma Illya is here despite it only being 6 episodes in....I mean based on the manga it's totally awesome and a personal favorite, but c'mon guys at least wait until it's done before adding it to the top 10 MS anime evaaar list. >_>

Top ten by what criteria? Chance? The bulk of these are worse than Heartcatch Precure. And if you're going to put some of those on there then not putting Princess Tutu on as well is a crime against decency.

While magical, Rozen Maiden isn't a magical girl anime. There are no transformation scenes or anything of the like. Replace it with something else.
While dated and hardly talked about I say Tokyo Mew Mew
TMM was awesome. At first I was skeptical, but the first few minutes were already enough to draw me in. I really loved it till the end. Also, it's infinitely better than the manga original (too rushed, no character development for anyone besides Ichigo -_- the anime does an awesome job to flesh out everyone... and then there is the sequel with Berry... just horrible... only good thing about the manga is the art).
Rozen Maiden truly isn't Mahou Shoujo. Although I like Strike Witches, I wouldn't count it as MS either... or what about Dokuro-chan? Sure, the angels use magic, but it doesn't belong into the MS genre.
There are many other horrible choices in this poll, I'm not going to write any more... Shit list is shit (except for some choices)

It's fine once in the future this list will be up again and Nanoha will pretty much remain solid.Madoka is like SAO in the sense that it's fans are getting really really annoying.
Fans being annoying as a reason to dictate a show's longevity puts you on the same exact coin, but on the other side. People who hate shows because of the fans don't seem to realize that they themselves are the progenitors of the very defensive mindset that leads to the vehement retardation that fans can produce.
If people who say lines like 'the show sucks' ever started realizing that 90% of the time it's because of the fans, then they'd actually have the mental fortitude to realize that they've probably never even legitimately judged the shows themselves, but sent them through the filter of fan hatred.
SAO and Madoka were phenomenal. Were they revolutionary? You missed option C when that question and questions like it have been asked in the past: Who gives a fuck? It doesn't matter if they are revolutionary or not. They are good. VERY good. Are they perfect? Nobody every said they were, so it's a moot point. What matters is that anyone with a brain can recognize that when a show is this dichotomous, it's a literal impossibility for it to derive this much variance of emotion if it wasn't that good that it could do so in the first place.
By that logic, it's a simple breakdown to recognize that the fans who lack the ability to temper themselves are the ones who ruin the solid, pure emotion of a show itself for the people who may not have experienced it. Hence why you go "Well, fuck them, I'll form my own opinion by watching it and they can all eat a dick." The only requirement you have is to watch with an open mind and recognize when you yourself are starting to hate it because of them, otherwise you're no less a sheep than they are, and part of the exact same problem.
You are annoying and Madoka is genuine. Period.

Nanoha would have been higher if the poll was done five years ago. It probably would have been number 1.
However, the people who make it have been content to let it go completely stagnant in favor of REPEATED minimum-effort, maximum-profit reboots and spinoffs that involve basically nothing but ever more lesbian innuendo.
Which I can't entirely blame them for because moe fanboys are easy money, but as someone who liked the series for things other than girls holding hands, it's depressing. Its fandom has gotten so retarded I've pretty much pulled completely out of it.
