"We're going to do a look back of our decade!"
"But... we're only 3 years into it!"
"DO IT ANYWAY!"
Sancom logic.
SanK-ON logic
More like logic that's taken from a whole different (Japanese) site and merely reposted here.
look all the butthurt thumbs down
I see no logic here anyway
Does it matter? If the list is made in 2020 then we won't be seeing animes from 2010-2017 anyway.
Then just say "top 20 anime to represent 2010-Auguest 1 2013" instead. Why the BS?
Sancom logic is you complaining.
You certainly don't know how embedded hyperlinks work do you.
http://anime.biglobe.ne.jp/userranking/title/42924/
Here you go.
Your point is valid but you should direct it at soukidan-san, the guy who started this poll.
As expected of Madoka the only pillar of mahou shoujo anime,it was able to get 3rd on sheer plot alone.Unlike all those moeblob and fanservice animes.I am happy Nanoha didn't get it,that slut filled anime deserves to disappear.
You mean on plot twists alone.
All of the half-decent non-Precure mahou shoujo are from before 2010. This list should have waited until Sailor Moon Crystal was out, then we'd see what's what.
Generic shit self-sacrifice plot. Lolis.
It's big hit.
Clannad FUKEN WHERE?
Way back in 2008...
It's "under 2010"
Yeah....not to mention that this list is yet another fucking abomination, completely devoid of taste or style.
4 and 5 are good. The rest of this list? Shame on you, Japan.
This isn't a list about, "taste"; this is a list about what shows represent and have impacted modern anime.
Whether you like it or not, you cannot deny the impact that K-On! has had on the moefication of anime today. Shows like SAO and the Toaru series exemplify a trend of beautifully wrapped stupidity, and shows like Nyaruko and OreImo display a celebration of the current otaku culture.
Actually one of the more interesting lists. Hell, even the fujoshi got in there with Kuroko's and Tiger & Bunny.
Nubs who dont know about Azumanga and talk to K-on is the base of moefication, are that, a simple nubs.
And more interesting list?, sure, for people who dont know any the meaning of "GOOD TASTE".
09:15 here
Sorry 12:18, but AzuDaioh's actually one of my favourite anime of all time; I like it a whole lot more than K-On!, to be sure. But AzuDaioh's style and influence really hasn't been seen much in recent times. Mitsudomoé employed a rather similar style of short, gag-based segments in its episodes, but most shows clearly do not follow suit.
AzuDaioh is a show about likeable characters doing amusing things; K-On! is a show about likeable characters being likeable characters. Whether or not either show succeeds at these things is subjective on the part of the viewer, but the differences in their aims and presentation should not be understated. Yes, there are similarities, and yes, it's possible that the latter might not exist in the same form if not for the former (or the innumerable other influences that help compose ANY series), but being influenced by other works does not make a series less relevant.
Again, it's not an issue of taste. If we were talking about Hollywood movies that represent the current state of that industry, one could not deny Micheal Bay's Transformers series a place on that stage. While it's critically agreed that these movies are complete garbage, the fact that they can make over a billion dollars at the box office says a lot about the industry and its consumers. Shows like K-On!, whether you personally enjoy them or not, are much the same. If one were to pick a single series that exemplifies the current notion of, "moé", it would have to be K-On!.
tl;dr
K-On! is the face of the modern moéblob whether you like it or not.
K-On wouldn't have existed if not for Lucky Star and Azumanga Daioh paving the way. Yes, I know those are 2000s anime, but they prove how I don't think K-On was all that unique.
Though really, K-On!, Railgun, and ~Monogatari all started in 2009, so they don't technically belong to this decade. And there were plenty of series that got the moe ball rolling back in the 00s and even the late 90s. Like Cardcaptor Sakura, Kokoro Library, Kanon, Da Capo, Air, Aria, Haruhi, Higurashi, Lucky Star, Hidamari Sketch, etc.
Yup, unique are shows like Tatami Galaxy or Zetsuen no Tempest. K-On is just a moeblob, nothing more, nothing less.
These don't represent 2010's anime, and haven't changed them much yet at all. It's a bit early to even pretend that Madoka changed anything, let alone K-On!!, which hasn't changed anything (the original from the 00's did).
No love for Madoka?
Shingeki no kyojin and Tiger and Bunny are good animes but Durarara!!, Psycho-Pass and maybe Magi are good animes that didn't fell in the hell of moefication.
I also like To aru and monogatari series, but I think they're starting to be too moe for my taste.
And I have to mention Madoka, Is not specially good, but is an anime who showed us how a magical girl anime could be extremely cruel.
Durarara!! fell on moefication of bishounen.
IF I DON'T LIKE SOMETHING IT'S NOT ALLOWED TO EXIST
Everyone wishes they could say that, and yet, you exist anyway.
You exist, so your argument is bunk.
If I don't like you, then you're not allowed to exist ?
It's pretty much a shallow-minded people to think that every people has to have the same mindset with you
Isn't it a little early for such a list?
(Plus some of the choices are pretty... bleh.)
As expected of shitty moetards
Do you even know the meaning of that made-up worthless word? Please cease your thoughtless stupidity and provide something useful. Whether you agree with the choices or not, many of the things on the list have nothing to do with moe as their base at all.
Parrots don't need to understand what they're saying.
houselife stfu. and know that moeshit anime occupy alot of this list because japanese are moe shit tards. the end
Which sums up over 90% of the people on this whole site huh
Mikasa's ass is awesome...
Dat mikasa ass
K-ON an anime with strong story telling and plots
K-ON was SO good it didn't need a plot!
People make jokes about plot/story and forget that it isn't exactly necessary to a comedy. Seinfeld being a prime example and self-admitted "show about nothing."
And now people will only get K-ON rehashed for the next n years.
Wait, what? K-On was a comedy? Which of its 3 jokes did you like the best: Mio's scared of something, somebody doesn't want to practice, or "we're supposed to be a music club!"
I really wonder if people watched K-On or just replaced their memories of it with whatever they wanted it to be.. and this coming from a fan of the actual franchise.
This list is irrelevant, not because of the choices, but because it's 2013. Whoever requested this list has no creativity and is a waste of everyone's time to begin with for doing a decade-based list when the decade has only just reached its 1/3rd mark of completion.
Well, K-on is certainly influencial until now. Even if it loses this influence soon, it kinda belongs on such a list.
Madoka might also have lasting effects.
Other then those two any predictions are impossible (at least with the anime on this list).
The original K-On has arguably been influential (though one can argue that Lucky Star was far more influential, and that Azumanga was even moreso.. not to mention Aria). The 2010's K-On!! has changed basically nothing.
Madoka has already had some influence, because it catapulted Urubuchi into superstardom. Hence, we have a lot of Urobuchi anime all of a sudden. I don't know yet if it's changing other people's anime substantially, though.
Love it when people bury a comment because they don't agree with it, but can't formulate a reason why. Try harder, kids.
i hate it when people (like the government) bury a person in work because they dont want to have anything to do with it, but cant formulate a more convincing reason than: just do it!
to represent the 2010s? its only 2.8 years we have a long way to go to be "classic"
No Fate/zero, this ranking is shit.
Who, exactly, compiles these lists and from what source? Posts here always show that nobody agrees with more than a couple of the items and sometimes we even get a reverse list (best of/worst of) with the same animes on it. This kind of BS is worthless filler.
