The difference is that in monogatari, the conversations that are happening are a little deeper. They're talking about plot stuff along with playful jokes and throwing around multi-meaninged references left and right.

Sure, with extreme emphasis on "a little". They spit out a lot of words but really don't say a whole hell of a lot. That's part of the appeal.
If you actually watched the episode you'll know they only spend about a minute or so in the bath. Don't judge it by just a few frames. And with some shows, fan service is the theme. I don't see what the problem is.

I've always seen monogatari being more of a philosophical than action oriented, on top of the the "plot". I mean how many times has Araragi actually "beaten" an oddity away? Usually it's him getting beaten up until he "persuades" the oddity with illogical logic or something.
And the absence of battle is because there is no Araragi to get beaten up...but I'll have the yuri thank you very much.
There really isn't any more philosophy, either. It's always been a silly romp through fanservice of one sort or another, including dialogue and post-modern art porn.
Without those strange battles and nothing but girls (and more than implied yuri) this is shaping up to be more like post modern K-On.

Nekomonogatari Black ended with a great action scene. That wasn't even that long ago. I think you should go back to shonen anime.
