Demolition, China Style

china-style-demolition-1

china-style-demolition-2

The lengths Chinese real estate developers will go to when mere property owners refuse to sell up are yet again causing a stir, with the latest example seeing tenants simply having their building torn down around them.

After the owners of an apartment refused what was surely a very generous offer of compensation, they found the rest of their building pulled down anyway:

The holdouts complain they have been left stuck without water or power for a year whilst local authorities for some reason refuse to reconnect them, a not altogether uncommon situation for those who find themselves complicating someone’s real estate plans in China.

You know that "very generous offer of compensation" was sarcasm right?

The compensation is most likely not enough for her to afford a new house.

That was awful if it is the truth..

Forced into a corner of living in a house with no water and electricity, still better than get a little compensation which not enough to afford a new house.

I fuckin hate mega corporation that operate like this, just because they have the money power they think they can oppress poor people.

At least give her money enough for a new home, after deciding to kick her out of her old home.

It's not a matter of thinking they can do it. It is a matter of knowing they can do it. Openly and without repercussions. Welcome to Earth... leave your money at the door.

No, the last few holdouts always get high payment, often under the table. It's the easy movers early on that get cheated. If she stayed at this point, she's holding out for more money.

The last farmer holdout for that fake museum must have gotten an extra 10,000 yuan.

    Comment by Anonymous

    you know shit.

the compensation is great, the contractors will pay for your house to be torn down and rebuilt then once it's rebuilt they'll give you your share of the apartment back, and if your a farmer with a lot of land, you get back multiple apartment buildings. (My cousin's family who were farmers now own 7 apartment complexes and are filthy rich)

I am Naruto fans.. and yeah, that filler between Naruto and Naruto Shippuden is very annoying.

Its so bad that team Kakashi made powerless, even losing to some no-name ninja, and using in one episode Naruto use Rasengan to kneed dough..so bad that I drop it until the beginning of Shippuden.

Right now I read One Piece, which I still can't stand the art approach, and Naruto which I only read to watch how it'll end, and drop Bleach long time ago.

The other manga I follow, Toriko, is awesome right now.

Next they'll just build whatever they're planning on building so that it'll engulf what's rest of that apartment inside.

Seems like a lucrative real estate market there. All you investors out there set your sights on China.

That's exactly what i was imagining. Like they build around the remains of it, and encase it in concrete so no one can even enter/exit the apt anymore lol.....

This happens in the States all the time, just to townhouses and semis. Individual apartments from a large building are not deemed structurally sound to stand on their own.

You see a semi attached to a huge apartment on the other side. It's a weird sight.

Here in Brazil the same thing, only pay the lowest possible value, have ever seen a situation where it was just a occupied home in the middle of several debris and heavy machinery.
But .. she is not afraid that the building fall? with the empty lot, the wind blows straight into the building already fragile ..
Perhaps the government is hoping that ...

Yeah happens everywhere. Used to only happen when a government was going to use the land for public works, now it is done almost exclusively for real estate developers. The low buyout is always hilarious because the developers are of course going to make a fortune from whatever they build.

What is even more fun is when the developer/govt runs out of funds after demolishing and doesn't redevelop the land at all:

Because US has been such great country: Slavery, multiple massacres of native americans including such "glorious battles" like wounded knee, concentration camps for japanese in WWII, Agent Orange in Vietnam, Operation Cyclone which eventually created Al-Qaeda, Patriot Act, Prism... We'll see what will follow.

Japanese were brutal, unhuman even but it all happened 70 years ago... What do you have to defend for the US and it's ONGOING barbarism?

Listen you filthy twats. People are good, sociopaths are evil. Sociopaths run virtually all worldwide governments now. They bring shame, disaster, bed reputations to any nation. And most of these governments are run by an even higher group, the international banking sector (or world-rape system). So bitch about each other as much as you want, in "reality" the only good nations are ones not run by genetic sociopaths nor the Reserve Bank mafia. You lot just twiddle around bitch, bitch, bitch in endless circles while completely ignoring the real problem.

The US never used concentration camps in WWII.
Now it did put Japanese Americans in interment camps which was a dick move on it's part but these were no where near as bad as the conditions in camps of the Axis powers and in fact they probably still lived under better conditions then the average person in WWII Japan.
