With gun and tanker girls doing so well, Gainax’s latest anime Stella Jogakuin Koutou-ka C3-bu aims to capitalize on the moe militaria craze with schoolgirls and airsoft survival games, having been compared to no less than K-ON! in terms of both its cuteness and extracurricular club theme, although purists have complained about them wearing their school uniforms during their matches…

instead of twisting hairs of death she got now "guns of instant death".

i think the new dekomori is more effective in what she does.

the old dekomori was fine how she was.

Fail. K-On didn't teach you twat about guitars and performances. It was just girls hanging around together in a band. Upotte at least teach you how to snipe with your legs lol

If they are paintball guns than I could understand the purist point of view. But airsoft guns don't hit hard at all no special gear needed but something to protect the eyes.

In Japan, airosft is bigger than paintball mainly because they can't own real guns.

Depends on the gun. I've read a review for an electric-driven, gas-powered minigun that could rip cardboard boxes to shreds.

You kidding me!? you have only seen kid`s airsoft guns so. the first thing that came to my mind when I saw the pics was exactly "holly fuck! these girls are so badass that they play airsoft without masks. some don't use gloves too".

no way in hell they can play like that. grown up boys don't do this craziness, how can those little girls? an airsoft ball that hits your unprotected skin leaves a rather big and painful red dot. in the face it looks like a disgusting zit. (I know cuz my brother used to play with a mask that covered only half of his face)

Camouflage patterns are worn only by those without fieldcraft skills. Camouflage only serves to make yourself stick out like a sore thumb in most terrain, aside from the rare situation where you are in front of a textured surface, unmoving, with the same colourisation, and the enemy is more then 200m away that the colours can be blended in. Of course your face needs to be matching as well, and any belts, buckles, and infractions on the colour scheme can likewise give you away. Generally simply hiding behind something is far more effective then the modern obsession with patterns.

There is a reason why the Japs in WW2 and Vietnamese in the Vietnam war wore drab colours, and they were tough buggers to spot.

Guessing that it's an all-girls school, because who's ever heard of an airsoft club without at least one or two guys in it? And as for the purists' opinion about them being in school uniforms, I'd have to partially agree, if only because miniskirts are supremely unfit for this kind of thing. Cargo pants or jeans or whatever, even shorts (down to around the knees) would be fine. As for color scheme, I'd have to say that pink is pretty low on my list of preferred colors for outdoor combat sports. A nice grey or dull green would be best, but as long as its not brightly colored it would be fine.

I'm not a hater, I just dislike how many composers ALWAYS have the same shit... Kajiura, Yasuharu Takanashi, Motoi Sakuraba, Shiro Sagisu, fucking Ali Project (urgh... I hate their songs, and how EVERY song sounds sooo similar), and others... please stop overusing the same stuff.

Im just so damn tired of seeing all of these moe shows being made season after season. Hell more than half of this season is moe anime about girls. Back at least 5 seasons ago I said it probably wouldn't get this bad but damn now their just milking it for all it's worth. I wouldn't be surprised at this point if by a year or two from now the only thing they'll be airing is moe.

I don't know who to blame more the anime industry for making more of this crap season after season or the viewers for buying & watching it when all it is is a copy and paste from the same moe shows from last season.

Vote me down if you must but I won't hesitate to say the truth. And you know your all thinking this in the back of your minds too.

    Comment by Anonymous

I said this once before and I will say it again: I THINK anime releases are not that bad right now... The problem would be if you are informing yourself only via this site, as this site is purely moe-fanboy oriented, plus whatever causes "controversy". But I believe anime releases are rather varied nonetheless, just that you will not see that here.

I will not deny the overload of moe anime, though, as even anime producers themselves have admitted it in the past... Something like "moe and mecha anime mass-production will eventually kill the market", or similar to that... Not sure if it can get THAT far, but at least it does confirm what you say: too much of this genre with little to no change under the pretext of "why change it if it's working".

It doesn't seem like a normal moe show, though. For one thing, it's actually entertaining.

It came across as a spoof, if anything, by starting out looking like it's going to be a typical dull-as-dishwater "slice of life" anime about cute girls doing nothing, and then all of a sudden, guns.

I'm not sure if Gainax is intentionally making fun of the tropes of K-ON and other such anime, but it sure seems like it, especially "So this is a club where we just sit around and drink tea all day?"

The characters are cute and idiosyncratic, yes, but it looks as though things might actually happen in this show, which already puts it head and shoulders above K-ON. (Also, it's pretty funny.)

There are guys like us on this site still around who actually like anime for their story instead of how much skin and loli's they can show.
