You have to wonder why they simply don't go all the way and create a DLC with actual "birthday suits": model their nipples and vulvas, give a choice between natural bush, trimmed or hairless, slap a price tag on it in line with other costume DLCs or even a bit higher and watch the money pour in.
There are a few things in the way of that.
They'd have to censor it in some countries (especially Japan), and no matter where they sold it, they'd have to deal with making sure minors can't get it. They'd have to set up their own distribution and sales system for it too, since no one will want the bad PR of being associated with porn. And even then, they would also have difficulty getting stores to stock the base game, again, since they wouldn't want to be associated with porn.

So having nudity makes it associated with porn, now? So what do you say about all those western games with full nudity and even sex scenes like The Witcher? Are people associating that game with porn?
Frankly, DOA could have nudity. The problem is with the Japanese game industry. Anime and manga is completely ok showing nipples without it being restricted for adults, yet for some reason video games never do unless it's on the PC and restricted for adults. If they can sell western games with nudity in Japan why is there a taboo with selling japanese games with nudity? It's just an invisible line that no one dares to cross yet for some reason.
I don't care about DOA showing full nudity, although it annoys me that wet white shirts don't even show a hint of nipples, but I do wish Japan would release an original fanservice game that shows nudity. There's two PSP games based on the Queen's Blade series and neither shows a single nipple while it's source material has around 10 instances per episode, it makes no sense.

The whole discussion on what is or isn't porn / parents ACTUALLY being responsible for their children/ taking the blame when shit goes wrong/ etc , is all over the place and mostly hypocritical, but's not going to change within our lifetimes.

I like both styles. But the idea of change and progression and keeping things fresh is just lost on some people. THey did it well in DOA5 without changing things too much, it looks like a natural evolution, and since I like the way it used to look as well as how it looks now I'm just glad I have all the games in the series to play depending on which one I'm in the mood for. DOA games don't age for me, they all look amazing in their own way.
Then go back and play DOA2! Seriously, I still actually play DOA2U as well, especially because Tina's outfits look significantly tighter in that game... >:3
