I thought I can watch it til the end~ like to love-ru, but no kidding even the quality is good the story is hard to stand...
Watched all episodes in the last few days,
sadly i have to agree...
Too many plot holes, nonsensical twists,
the all too convenient timing many series harbor.
Fanservice is not enough to make a good anime, dear japanese!
Design was okay, reminded me of Canaan.
But more than once i was like /facepalm+headshake
when major events took place.
So, Date a live will soon be Date a Dead after this final episode?

What twist? The only "twist" I can think of was pretty damn clear right from episode one.
Oh and, why was Shido able to seal spirits? It was never revealed, or was it because Kotori saved him so he suddenly got that power?

In the novels, Kotori's power was given to by that mysterious guy that Shidou noticed in video. Shidou knows there should be someone there but could not tell who since his and Kotori's memories were tampered with in addition to the video footage. In terms of Shidou's power, the novels has not gotten there yet but it had give hints that his real missing biological mother and possibly father have something to do with it. Kurumi's arc is actually not over yet since she has a different role to complete.

It is a clusrerfuck ending because the anime did not cover up to the later novels. At the same time, they do not want to do an original ending which will screw up their chance at a second season. Generally, they followed the plot point pretty well.
The kurumi Intentions are not very clear in the anime, but it seems she wants to fix something ......... in a good way or bad.
Apparently the actual end boss was hidden, who created and gave the powers the girls spirits also.......
Another anime that ends with a few chapters and continuation is uncertain ..
Who fucking knows. The end just seemed like a clusterfuck that answers absolutely nothing.
Thats always what happens in every anime ever.

Just this season there are several MC's that "Died" in the first arc, it IS a generic plot point. it's a tweest when they stay dead, like in Ga Rei Zero who killed off a whole cast IIRC.
Except he doesn't die because he can regenerate... So you could compare it Araragi being beaten to death in bake-, nise- and nekomonogari. And I'm not sure but I think the MC was "killed" in Rosario-to-Vampire and Macademi Wasshoi and I think there are others too in this same genre no less where the MC is "killed"(early on too)...
Shakugan no Shana, Gantz, C3. Did mc die in kore wa zombie desuka and DXD highschool? Dying is now a plot tool to set generic MC as special and powerful.
