Sony has put the fears of gamers to rest by announcing even more clearly that the PlayStation 4 will support used games, as well as trading or lending of games, and does not require constant net access to play single player disc titles.
In what was very clearly a huge dig at Microsoft’s ambiguous position, Sony’s emphatic affirmation of the “ownership” paradigm of disc-based games drew huge cheers from E3 crowds and probably ranks as their biggest PR coup for the PS4 so far.
Just to rub things in further, Sony provides a helpful video describing the procedure required to share a game on the PS4:
Well that something me and my friend have been doing for the longest time already. Where we live a game cause about 200 to 250 and our salary are about 2,000 a month. so we both buy different game and exchange it after we have finish both of our game. So its PS4 for me and my friend.
I refuse to buy consoles at all because of this kind of s♥♥t. Why is it even up for debate. You buy a game, it should be your personal property to do what you want with. The trouble is that the fine print says otherwise…
PC all the way. I know they have plenty of problems with DRM as well, but not to the same extent, and if a publisher does dick things with DRM, pirate!.
After reading so much about each and every article about both consoles, I think I’ll just break out the old Atari instead…
I’m kind of happy for the DRM in the console market, us PC gamers have constantly been getting s♥♥t and blamed for the DRM such as “it’s your own fault since you all pirate the games” etc, and it just feels good that the consoles are finally getting screwd over like we have, all in the name of “piracy”(well, used sales is the argument for consoles since they haven’t yet managed to kill that, but after they managed to do that they’ll blame piracy).
Now I am kinda worried that publishers might stop publishing things on the PS4 over this or at least go digital only to prevent used games.
