China’s thought police have begun censoring all mentions of rubber duckies after an unpatriotic wag uploaded a Photoshop combining it and the famed Tiananmen Square incident of 1989 to sinified Twitter knock-off Sina Weibo.
The 3rd and 4th of June mark the dates on which the People’s Liberation Army gloriously liberated Tiananmen Square of people in 1989, after student protests for an end to communist dictatorship became too inconvenient to allow to continue.
Any reference to the incident – along with any cunning euphemism for it – has long since been subject to almost instant deletion by China’s vast Internet censorship apparatus.
The giant rubber duck itself did not survive its latest trip to China, its recent visit to Hong Kong being cut short by a deliberate puncture:

what did the duckie ever do to you you communist bastards :(
Because rubber duckies are fun, and fun is the invention of capitalist pigs.
They should have made the duck blood red instead of yellow. Yellow is kinda racist for them... i guess... XD
我就草泥马
speak english plz, if you want to stay on an english language website
我只能说看到中文真亲切啊
I want to cao ni ma!
It should paint blood red commie. :P
Funny, the duckie's coming to my hometown in a week.
Also guess where that "censored" picture was uploaded from? (Hint not an English site)
Artefag classy as always : )
But showing people being beheaded on tv right on primetime news is alright then, eh?
When has that been shown? Please enlighten me.
Within the last few weeks, woman being decapitated by elevator, shown on the news which is how they had the clip for here.
I see it all the time on the internet but i've never saw any news network show that sort of stuff on tv.
Of course. It's just wholesome family fun.
and it looks like they are letting it float out to sea to kill animals...
trashy people gotta be trashy I guess
It's been reinflated.
Why do the Chinese cyber police even bother.
The whole "communism is bullshit" thing is common knowledge even among Chinese people now.
Unfortunately, not really.
Just to be clear, communism isn't bullshit. What's bullshit is that the Chinese call themselves communist.
They aren't. They're arguably more capitalist than any nation anywhere.
Because that's what they get paid for.
Bureaucracy!
Cummunism is evil
True reasons for the ban:
1. Racism - the ducks are yellow!
2. Duckfaces - everybody knows them, most people hate them... the Chinese show their dislike for duckfaces by banning them, the first to do so!
3. Size - those ducks are huge, Asian people aren't. So that no Chinese develops an inferiority complex concerning their size, they ban ducks!
4. Copyright - The portrayed ducks cannot be shown as they are under copyright protection and the Chinese gov. wants to avoid legal conflicts!
5. Mothra+Godzilla - Mothra is awesome!.... well erm, giant ducks resemble those monsters = plagiarism = legal issues!
have fun adding more (don't have to be true) lol
PFFFFFFFFFFFFFT China caring about copyright.
Looks like Gintama.
This is sooo off topic and political in SanCom as usual...
What is this? I don't even...
I thought Rubber Duckies are made in China.
You do realize the protest at Tienanmen square were against corruption and capitalism being reintroduced and the cutting of benefits not against communism. But that would require doing a bit of research on the subject something you clearly haven't done.
I do not support the reactionary corrupt CAPITALIST Chinese government but you are no better then them.
I wanted Scrambled egg, not Flat!
NOONE GIVES A SHIT ABOUT YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUR GODDAMNED OPINION! NOONE! GET LOST!
China is f*cked up beyond believe, maybe they think those rubber ducky is a propaganda from capitalist government.
They ARE capitalist. They haven't bin communist sense the 70s. There government is infected with revisionist and reactionarys which is why its so fucked.
they're not communist or capitalist, they're imperialist.
呵呵!Maybe I should speak English,hehe!
commies, commies everywhere
Any time I try to write fuck on my phone it tries to auto correct it as duck.
what the duck are you talking about?
duck you motherducker
Rubber Duckie, you're the one.
You make bath time lots of fun.
You beat me to it!! Are the Chinese going to censor Sesame Street now, too?
Sesame Street SHOULD BE Banned. XD
Hey China, the rubber ducky is completely innocent, are you censoring it because it is cute?
AWESOME, finally China does something against the duck menace against children.
Unpatriotic duck is unpatriotic. Doesn't explode.
it's originally from the neverlands
Actually the Hong Kong one was built locally in case shit like this happened. There are several sculptures; the designer is from the Netherlands.
China must not want there own people to find out this shameful incident that badly lol over a Rubber Ducky.
WTH?! This is my avatar!
Why don't they just use light beams and steam to blur it out?
They'd have to import the light and steam from Japan.
