S&M has long been a part of the Japanese Literary tradition. Kyousuke is rampantly masochistic. The true ending to Oreimo is Kirino in leather stepping on his balls, beating him with a ridding crop and making him clean the bathroom with his tongue. Or some fake-Otaku version of that.
Characters with personality as foul as Kirino aren't all that common.

Too much of a good thing can really be a bad thing, seriously. Really, I've thought about this and... while it could be possible to be actually love with even just two girls who love you back equally, it's their relationship with each other and their having to share you that fucks things up, ultimately. Put yourself in their shoes and it's not easy to realize why it'd be near impossible to work out, unless some kind of horrible brainwashing method is involved which really just degrades the whole situation.
