    I don't understand. Why not just watch hentai? The storyline in here really can't be compelling enough to merit watching the show for the story or characters. I haven't ever seen it myself, but clearly the reason to watch it is for the ero. So why not just watch a hentai? It's not like this is the type of show you watch when others are around to begin with, might as well get some penetration.

    Plus, seems that the main character is a eunuch.

    And then I also watch stuff like this because it has better character design and animation than most hentai, even in 2013 when hentai is supposed to be better than shit-quality.

    Well, first, the art in this show is superior to many animated hentai out there. Second, the seiyuu are people who've worked in a lot of other animes, so hearing their voices in the situations depicted in this anime can be quite thrilling to some. Finally, sometimes, the fact that no actual hardcore stuff is shown can actually be more arousing.

    well, the first seasons were just ecchi, and I liked the story. now, there isn't much story, cause then there wouldn't be room for the ecchi.

    I don't understand why there's always someone like you who can't understand. You're not into rape hentai by any chance, are you?

    Epic Baka summed it up best, in fact what he quoted sounds like something I would have said before, easily.

    But to add to him, a lot of people see women/relationships in real life as more than just sex, and that's the same with anime. We can get to know these characters and love them more deeply than some random "female character who has sex with the guy". All those otaku shrines and dakimakuras are made for a reason, obviously. A lot of guys go as far as to fall in love with anime girls, how many times have you seen that happen with a hentai girl? We can get to know them then even go and find doujinshi to actually see that penetration if we really want to. Surprisingly, some guys fall in love so deeply that they hate seeing their "waifus" in hentai doujinshi.

    There, I took the time to explain and help you understand. Many of us have. You better have asked that question while honestly hoping for a good answer. I suspect a lot of you people who ask just do it out of ridicule...

    LxB didn't have a good plot to be honest. My favorite was Seikon no Qwaser. It had a fucking *plot* AND fanservice galore, albeit a bit too much of a single kind.

    I still enjoyed LxB, but I prefer Kanokon over it much, much more, which is made by the same creators.

    SnQ is easily another one of my favorites, as is Manyuu Hikenchou.

    The phrase "Anime is..." rarely leads an accurate statement. The media format (dear normals: it's not a genre) encompasses a lot of diversity.

    So it would be wrong for me to suggest TLR is a shining beacon for anime.

    It would, however, be well within reason for me to say that TLR is a representative masterpiece for one of the most recognized areas of anime culture: Ecchi.

    It's shallow, it's unrealistic, it's cliche, and I WOULD NOT CHANGE A DAMN THING ABOUT IT.

    I would actually be worried if TLR WAS deep, realistic and original. You know something has gone terribly wrong when anime from a genre not specialized in plots gets the upper hand precisely on that aspect compared to other animes that actually try to be serious, but fail miserably at it, and I can name quite a few of those only from past 2 years.

    So, yes, I agree: I would not change this anime, either.

    To Love-Ru was a comedy on the first season, the second season (Motto To Love-Ru) was a comedy with a little bit "ecchi" on it, To Love-Ru Darkness ? it's a COMPLETELY PORNO AND BORING.

    Well, I think it's fine. You could argue that it already had it's good run with the first season or two, but now we get an official fanservice bonus season (in the past we might have just got a bonus fanservice ova!)

    I actually felt the opposite. I thought the original To love-ru was completely vapid and boring, Lala is annoying as piss.

    Regardless of how bad it is, at least Darkness is trying to maintain a functioning storyline.
