A live action movie version of Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai set for a 2014 release is reportedly in production, causing some profoundly mixed feelings amongst the show’s many fans.
The news – widely picked up but quite unconfirmed – comes by way of Ryukoku University’s announcement of extras being recruited for location filming of the project.
Genuine or not, as perhaps the most unlikely light novel to live action movie adaptation yet, the news is garnering a mixed reaction, with the usual cries of “gensaku rape!” being joined by those who could just see it working out with the right cast (possibly a problem for poor Niku):

NO - HELL NO. Every live action I have seen is a disappointment from the anime (perhaps 3DPD bias but whatever) Only interested in the third season at this point.
Same here I have never seen a live action adoption of an anime that was not an abortion.
Well except for Space battle Ship Yamato which was ok.
Even SBSY was a bit off but it was watchable, which is 1000X better than any other live action I've tortured myself with. Whoever watches these thing & enjoy them must either be M's or just plain bored.

Will Kobato be in the live action movie? I only ask because she wasn't in season two of the anime.
Yes she was, there was an entire segment dedicated to her birthday, and a part where she was in a play.
I think this is a desperate attempt to make the author enough money to write the rest of the LNs and create the third season before the popularity of this series completely dissipates. By the time that happens, at this rate, it'll be about 2016-2018, around there, nobody should count on a third season, nor should they count on this adaption being anything but a pukefest.
You mean the birthday episode where she wasn't even in the first half (excluding background appearances while Kodaka reads texts) and where the second half focused on Maria and her sister? She actually managed to cameo in an episode about her own birthday!
The movie her class shot just kept her out of the show longer, since she didn't have extra classes to keep her away anymore. The one their club made had no voiced lines and the whole arc for it was pretty much about Rika.
Rika probably got about as many lines while dressed like Kobato as Kobato herself got in the entire season.
And you're saying she had a larger part in the first season? Kobato is a side-character anyway, even though she's awesome.
While admittedly the first season was innumerable leagues better than the second, Kobato is a side-character, no matter how much the people who like her view her as the protagonist.

No, no, it is impossible to do this series justice through a live-action.
That's the same as saying that Sony's 1998 Godzilla was a good representation the the King of Kaiju.
Which may be a good or a bad thing. This series had its dose of crudeness and vulgarity I think it could do without. But there's enough to pick from anyway, and maybe they can retain the flair some of the characters had.
I agree with this. I do think this show is actually really funny, but the way the fanservice is kind of shoved in there in a really obvious but not very satisfying way (they almost never show anything) keeps me from recommending it to my pervert or non pervert friends. Maybe a live action would take out the badly done fanservice and leave the funniness and some better done fanservice. No guarantees though, live action adaptations tend not to be great.

I never liked live actions & this just gives me another reason to hate them. And I thought the Chinese & Koreans couldn't act. Some of the last Japanese movies I've seen just make me want to stick with US A-movies. At least most of them have "good" acting.
Nah, It is not that they are bad actors. Asians acting naturally looks like bad actors. Seems like this is due to their body language being different making people raised in west feel unconfortable since their words don't match the body language our brain expects.

There are quite a few attractive blond haafu who in theory could do the job. At least some of them are bound to have reasonable TnA to be roughly convincing. They'll most likely have to cast an unknown though.
Just cast Ai Shinozaki as Sena and give her a blond wig (or dye her hair) I guess. Not sure how well the hair would fit her, but she sure would look the part otherwise IMO.
