Yeah, it's kind of "Psycho..? What......?" when just seeing the anime screens..

Well, this episode, it's only hinted at but spoilers are easy to come by. SanCom isn't exactly innocent when it comes to spoiling plotl-ines etc.
You got to love psycho girls.
I think her new design is much better.
No offense, but her new design is like an attempt of moe-fication to fit her in with other characters in the series.
I'm no pro in this matter, but surely the studio can design her with full similarity to the manga (and bet it'll cost lesser to draw her eyes :3).
Uh, I don't think facial expression will spoil anything to anyone. Sure it'll make her character looks darker; but that's it.
What I'm saying here, is that they should at least enforce her character more. Her personality is supposed to be a bit grim and it shows since her very first appearance so no spoiler there. Look again at the anime screenshot; I won't even think that she's as much as psycho as a newborn baby. Just an unsmiling, innocent-looking face.
That was done on purpose for dramatic effect. It's not like all anime watchers have read the manga/novels. At this very moment, an un-spoiled viewer would probably expect her to be a reasonably dangerous esper but not exactly psycho, since she was merely defending herself from stereotypical aggressors.
That's also why i normally propagate careful use of spoilerific material around discussion forums.
But with the voice, animation and music the scene was much better. Only if we could have both...
She has a nice pair of psycho tits though so it's all good.

The OP, OST is quite good in the episode. The soundtrack really brings out the atmosphere. Eventhough the pacing is quite slow but it keeps me interested in this episode.
This seems to be a prequel as she doesn't appear to know about the clones at this time at least it appeared she did not.

One of my problems with Toaru series is that even though the academy city is supposed to be this technological utopia with some kind of screening on who is even let in, it sure hell has a lot of psychos, weirdos and criminals living there... I mean at least create some gray area people, don't make everyone into murdering psychos.
I could be wrong but I figured the more powerful espers were the ones more prone to being mentally unstable. Those at or near level 5 seem to be a bit crazy. Even Misaka has been known to be a bit loopy when pushed too far.
But that IS the point of academy city...
It's a dumping ground for the very worst of the worst that world has to offer.
You gotta put them somewhere so why not give them their very own city to play in?
Also doesn't railgun cover most of the scientific side instead of magic side?
Yeah, i know what you're getting at but...it's not supposed to be a utopia. It's a testing-ground pseudo society for extreme situations.
In other words, it's intended for bad things to happen.

So far in the first two episodes we've had a hospital break-in, a helicopter chase, armed robbery, superhero-type action with psychics, and some kind of conspiracy plot. Yeah, it's pretty slow-moving.
