“New” Infinite Stratos Anime Due

The prayers of Infinite Stratos fans awaiting a new anime appear to have finally been answered, although an apparent announcement of a “new anime” based on the novels has some worried.
The “announcement” comes by way of a promotion which featured an incidental Infinite Stratos cover including the news – and as the official image has since been changed to feature an uninformative IS cover it would appear to have been a blunder on their part, leaving its official status in doubt.
Aside from the circumstances of the announcement, the “new anime work production decided” wording (as opposed to “continuation”) has attracted a great deal of attention – suggesting that the series could be receiving a fresh anime adaptation rather than the long anticipated and now hopelessly overdue second series.

Please let it be a re-do. The first adaptation was flat out awful. I couldn't get past the third episode and I usually like this kind of show. The writing was terrible and made me cringe.
It was a fairly faithful, for the most part, adaptation of the novels. I'm doubting there would be any changes for the better in a redo.
Plus, I doubt the production values would have been as high in a redo.
I hope the mech is redone to 3D and they lengthen the story :3
So the light novels also screwed up the basic world building explanation?
By that I mean this,
Mediocre writing and above scene:
Teacher: {Techno-babble explanation of an IS}
Protag: "Huh?"
Future Love Interest: {Dumbed down explanation aimed as much at the audience as the Protag}
Protag: "Oh! I get it now... Why didn't they explain it that way in the first place?"
Writer of Infinite Stratos, first episode:
Teacher: {Dumbed down explanation}
Protag: "Huh? I don't understand."
Me: *facepalm* "If he's really this stupid, how does he dress himself?"
He also makes it clear he has no idea what an IS is, but in a flashback to the incident that got him into the school, he identifies an IS immediately. Did he somehow forget everything between being "drafted" into the school and his first day or something?
This is bad writing. Really bad writing. As in, "Take it out back and shoot it" bad.

Why is there a new anime of this series. The first one wasn't that great to begin with. Sure the boobs were nice and the mechs interesting, but the execution of the fight scenes, character development, and plot advancement were horrid. Premise was cool, but the execution of Infinite Stratos was failure. Unless they rewrite the story from scratch, no second season will save it.

Not everyone "hates" it with a passion but I for one thought it was decent. Wasn't bad but it wasn't good either. The only reason why I even tried to watch through an episode was for Houki, Laura, and Char. Honestly, if you don't have a favorite girl(s) then this show is pretty much a waste of time, because the plot was pretty generic.
By the end I hated it because I realized I had wasted my time watching 12 episodes of garbage.

I would honestly not mind a reboot, the first season was "alright" and just that. I honestly feel they can keep the spirit of the first attempt but make it...good.
I wish they could at least be more faithful to the Novels...XD

I want a 2nd season
I asked myself the same when I read this. As gorgerous the girls in Infinite Stratos are (and they certainly are), the male protagonist is the tip of the iceberg in stupidness and nerve-wracking beyond the point it's acceptable. Had to cancel the anime about episode 10 because I couldn't stand it anymore.

Please keep the characters the same!! I hate when studios switch and characters look different. If it is animated like the cover shot then all is good.
Also best one by far is Laura. Charlotte is fine but something about Laura is a must!

Maybe this time it's different? The way I see it, it will be another advertisement series in which it's up to the fans to fan the flames so that the outsiders see it and watch it and to finally become one of those people who got curious and bought the novel plus the whole series.
