Introducing Sankaku Channel Rankings

Sankaku Channel has received a major addition of functionality in the form of a full suite of charts and rankings showing the artists, characters and franchises generating the most popular and very best art around.
At present a wide variety of rankings are provided – the main characteristic being whether the scoring is based on the average “popularity” or “quality” of the included posts.
Popularity and quality are automatically calculated for each post based on a unique statistical algorithm incorporating post views, favourites and votes – the key difference between the two being that “popularity” incorporates time as a factor, leading to highly dynamic and constantly changing results, whereas quality considers only all-time totals.
In addition, rankings of artists, characters and copyrights are all provided, along with separate scoring systems based only on posts of each rating – enabling results to be drilled down to include artistic skill and cuteness as much as lust.
Finally, the number of posts can be filtered (small being less than 250 and large over 250), enabling relatively new entrants to be screened from their more well established counterparts.
The rankings will be updated automatically on a frequent basis, so checking them regularly is sure to be a rewarding way of discovering top new artists, the most popular characters and the hottest franchises.

Handy I suppose — if only the server wouldn't crap out all the time with 429 errors.
The limits have been scaled back a little, but you really have to browse extremely rapidly to trigger them so it seems reasonable.
I have noted that the 429 error sometimes occurs while loading thumbnails during auto paged scrolling through large galleries.
The autopages count as pages for the purpose of this restriction so it is possible that a very long and rapidly loaded page will trigger the limit.

Fapulous. Don't know if you had anything to do with the development of this, but even if it's just getting it working on here and telling us about it, thanks, Artefact! This was already the best CG/hentai site to begin with...
Also cool seeing Misakamitoko0903 and Sayori up there. Both great artists, with the former being really prolific.
It was my idea and I created it myself this time, so I'm afraid the responsibility is mine alone.
In this case the lack of a way to highlight entire tags by quality and so surface their content for users (particularly in the case of artists, as it is only proper their position be emphasised) was a clear gap in the way the site is structured, despite our already very advanced rating systems. This is very much a logical extension of that system.
As I use the site too, I'm also doubly keen on improving it for users and in keeping its functionality as complete as possible.
Cool stuff! Looks great so far too. My only complaint is that it's already too easy to find new stuff I like, haha...

Considering the volume of users whose preferences we are able to incorporate here, if you didn't like something there there is a good chance it is your taste which is lacking...
That said I have seen some popular choices which left me scratching my head, and the extreme popularity of Tony as ever seems a little questionable (although Takemura had him beat in some measures until his tags were merged).
Some of Tony's work made it into hentai (Fault!! I think), which was very good, that would be the cause of his popularity.
I like his art, but there is room for advancement. For instance, the character's forehead is creepy.
Just for the record, guys. I wasn't trying to be sarcastic. Sayori is good, but Yuuki Hagare is my fav.

Very nice! Its been a couple of months now that I've set up bookmarks to every one of my favorite artist and nowadays I just "browse by artist". Hopefully this feature makes it easier to discover new artists.
