    You're overrating Saya no Uta there. It really isn't all that amazing. I don't feel like my time was wasted reading it necessarily, but it's pretty overhyped.

    You are forgetting about all the legalities involved in translating and distributing a game to new market. Not only are Japanese companies like Nitro+ taking a risk, it's also not high on their priorities list and focus on deadlines for current games instead of these. Working with Japanese eroge companies to be able to release their games overseas is tough and painstaking work.

    J-list had been talking about releasing this game for over a year. It's little wonder that people grew impatient and just played the original version with a fan translation.
    I admit to doing the same, but I'm looking forward to an official release. Sure it's not the greatest VN ever made, but that doesn't mean it isn't still good.

    Sure but it took WAAAAAYY TO DAMN LONG! Seriously how many years has the game already been out? Most people just got a version off the net and an english fan translation patch by now. Sorry to say this but they should just skip over this an translate something newer that came out recently because they were way to late to the ball game on this one.

    If I'm not mistaken, the fan TL and downloading the game illegally is not mutually exclusive. You can support the industry by buying the Japanese version, then apply the fan patch.

    Hasn't it been about 4 years since a complete fan translation patch existed? I got tired of waiting, downloaded a pirated copy, and now it's doubtful that I'll ever pay for the official release. Good job in taking forever, JAST.

    saya no uta is one of those vns that you do not play for the sex scenes.
    if a couple of uncensored pics are your main reason to get this, than your probably better off with some other vn.

    Same again, I played the unofficial translation. Bought the original VN though.

    Now if JAST pull their thumbs out and give us Jingai Makyou in english I will be willing to throw money at them.

    Aye to that anon. It pains me that Jingai Makyou has been shelved indefinitely and we may never see an english release. If only Nitroplus and JAST would move their asses and fix the OS problem. Its now 8 years and counting since it was released in Japan.

    Alicesoft doesn't like us Gaijin unfortunately (they still have us blocked from their site ffs) and Eushully makes deep strategy games, which obviously means an unprofitable double niche of hentai/strategery game when you can instead just translate a VN, which is about as difficult as translating a book.

    Alicesoft should really get their heads out of their ass and begin catering to a worldwide audience or they'll die off. J-List knows to survive companies have to sell overseas and that's why they're able to sell a variety of things from different companies who understand this. It would be super ironic if when they run out of business and sell their titles to a different company that that company lets J-CAST make adaptations of all their work.

    I am surprised this is getting a us release considering Saya is defently a loli. On another note, this was a great vn, short, but still really damn good. I also love some of the music like Song of Saya. In general I like all Nitro+ vn's they are all fairly good. Only issue I had with Saya no uta, is there is no.. really happy end to it, no matter how you go thru it. Anyway regardless I can't reccomend Saya no Uta enough to people, its just that good.

    Erm, not really a "loli". She looks like a teen, and that means she does not qualify as a "loli", at least not in the strict definition of the word. But then again, considering that the word itself was shot full of holes by people using it without much thought, I'm not surprised some people don't know what exactly it is supposed to mean.

    Just to make it clearer, if one were attracted to a girl looking like Saya, he would be considered an "ephebophile". And a "loli" is a character to which "lolicons" (aka. "paedophiles", though we know there is a distinction between "2D" and reality so the word itself is not as heavy there as some people think it is) are attracted.

    Then again, that still means it is strange they want to release the visual novel, seeing as the western world appears to be shunning erotic works with girls of this age too. And thus, you are still right.
