um but S2 hasn't been confirmed yet... it was only a cm saying "contract renewed"... calm yo tits sankaku, there hasn't been a real announcement yet...
The contract refers to the one between DFM and the Tyrant's Eye. It is real.
That doesn't mean it's a S2 though
It could be another OVA for all we know
I mean while it's obvious that it's probably a S2, jumping to conclusions is a major fault of a journalist

I'm pretty sure this is for the OVA which is being released in June, I also doubt a second season due to the fact that the source material is only two light novels.
It's obviously not for the OVA in June, that one had a trailer released months ago. They wouldn't "surprise" announce it now. Also, the first season only covered the first novel (kind of - it was a VERY loose adaptation) so there's no reason they can't make an entire second season based on novel 2.

I feel season 1 closed the story up nicely too.
I'm just not seeing any potential development happening with Chuunibyou, except the usual "normally spoilt by unwanted interruption followed by resolve" type arc.

Actually no, since Haruhi is a Kadokawa show and Chuunibyou is a TBS show, this has no bearing on whether there'll be more Haruhi.
Kadokawa publishes the novels and generally manages the franchise but KyoAni actually made the anime.
I know KyoAni made the anime. I'm saying what they make next for TBS has no bearing on what they make next for Kadokawa. And they will make something for Kadokawa.
You can blame Aya Hirano for that. No Haruhi without the VA being on board.
