I never even understood what was so good about the first season, I watched a few eps and thought the show was honestly stupid, maybe I should have watch more than the first few eps?
Honestly, if you didn't enjoy the humor of the show in the first few episodes and the delusional reality segments then watching more of it wont endear you anymore to the series. I personally loved it from the git go and was laughing all the way up till it hit the slightly more serious tone of the end of the season but still greatly enjoyed it.
Lol its more of a "what the hell am I watching" type of effect on me, I felt like I was silly for watching this show. I'll check it out again anyway. Its not like I got anything better to do, my life is boring lol.
I watched the 1st season and I can honestly say it was decent at best. You're not missing much.
I did some research and I found that the reception of the light novel wasn't even that good and kyoani had to do some changes for the anime adaption. Did you know more than half the cast aren't even canon to the original light novel?
Thats some pretty big changes by the sound of it. I can't read japanese and can only understand a bit of spoken japanese, so, I had no idea about the light novel since I cannot read it. I'd like to learn japanese but when I look at the kanji I am like "How the hell do even the japanese people in japan learn all of this? so many characters" Katakana and hiragana are easy enough, but kanji that is used everywhere just goes right over my head.
Fuck yes. But this means we aren't getting a third season of Haruhi anytime soon...

Actually no, since Haruhi is a Kadokawa show and Chuunibyou is a TBS show, this has no bearing on whether there'll be more Haruhi.
Kadokawa publishes the novels and generally manages the franchise but KyoAni actually made the anime.
I know KyoAni made the anime. I'm saying what they make next for TBS has no bearing on what they make next for Kadokawa. And they will make something for Kadokawa.
