The girls of Haruhi and Ore no Imouto have been drafted in to make the learning of English more moe in the form of English annotated versions of the novels, whilst top seiyuu have been “helping” with pronunciation guides in what seems to have become a mini-industry of late.
The latest books take the form of the original Japanese light novels with annotations detailing the tortuous intricacies of English grammar as they apply to the text, in the hopes that the presence of such literary masterpieces and cute girls the student will find things slightly less tedious.
Exclusive illustrations also cunningly ensure they have some value even for collectors.
Both the Haruhi and Ore no Imouto tomes are available now.
Other similar efforts to appeal to the otaku English learning demographic have seen such top seiyuu as Hisako Kanemoto lending their voice to “very beautiful English” accent improvement guides and English textbooks – although given the quality of English typically seen in anime this sounds a rather risky proposition.
In other news, the girls of Lucky Star have also been teaching chemistry of all things:
Rather more appropriately, the more scientifically minded cast of Nichijou is doing the same thing with both chemistry and physics:

More people are learning other languages now.

You will be sucked - Guaranteed by NNN games.
Hello master! So coooool. Sonuvabitch!!
-Mad Scientist level native English.
O mai gaaa D:
I wish something like this existed for learning Japanese ;-;
You beat me to it.
They do, its the vocaloids.
If only RosettaStone could get on board with this.
Another job for seiyuu Hirano.
I'd let Kirino teach me ANYTHING.
Up to and including the specifics of the Imouto Moe fandom?
I wish I have had textbooks like these when I was in middle school. Damn it, I was born a bit too soon
Okay, now who is in charge of Sex education?
Aya Hirano. No one else is experienced enough.
u mean pretending to be not experienced enough
So the only ones who willl speak any English in the end will be the okakus. Their rise to power begins.
Everybody, fear the okaku, the new master race.
Surely you didn't mean "otaku", did you? I'd think the average specimen would be too busy fapping to the moe chicks to even bother reading.
You would be exceedingly surprised.
Depends on otaku. Be prepared for the rise of well-educated and very literate anime otaku.
Considering the horrifying level of obsession otaku are capable of, I have no doubt highly literate Haruhi and OreImo fans are soon to come.
Sadly, I have doubts as to the quality of the instructional material. The average seiyuu tends to have accented English on par with a grade-school ESL student; not really their fault, as it IS a second-language to them.
TL: Otaku means house
What about the library otaku?
@Chen-04
Depends on the context (and in written for also on writing which is of course lost in romanization), like many words in many languages, particularly Japanese.
I wonder if there are guide that teach otaku japanese also,I can't seem to find any...It will be awesome if artefact would write a article on said guide.I mean, learning japanese would be more of a joy.
Actually, English classes are a required part of the curriculum in Japanese schools.
Just saiyan.
Bzzzt. Wrong language to learn. Should've learned Mandarin.
Lol the Otaku = Eden of the East :)
inb4 "I want you to come to my house and FUCK my sister"
That's wrong. It's..
"I like you. Come over to my house and fuck my sister."
That's also wrong, it's:
"Hell, I like you, you can come over to my house and fuck my sister."
Hell, I, like you, can come over to my house and fuck my sister.
The original quote was "Hell, I like you, you can come over to my house and fuck my sister" from the Stanley Kubrick movie Full Metal Jacket but what you posted is probably quoting that english teaching aid on the page about "Fuck"
Moetan seal of approval :)
Is Kirino wearing Beats by Dr. Dre?
no it's just headphones, now that a nigger made headphones you people think every headset you see is made by dr.dre.
I don't want to learn English, I want to learn Japanese..
I do not want to learn either, I'm fine with just being able to speak/write/understand both.
Eden of the East, now THAT had good English voice acting.
Chemistry!! Woot! Woot!
Go Lucky Star~! Go Nichijou~!
They know what's important =3
Will they have Kyubey and the Megucas teaching physics?
Guys, we DO have extensive archives of Japanese dialogue presented in otaku-pandering form. It may be slow, but it's stupid easy to consume in large quantities.
Also, I fear the day that the "western anime" market tries to teach us how to say Hairy Ghetto.
Engrish: learn it from a jap, speak it like a jap.
I'm pretty sure they did something like this over 10 years ago with the GTO manga- they released it in Japan in English with the Japanese translation above the words.
They did a whole lot from Kodansha including Love Hina and CardCaptor Sakura. I owned one of the Love Hina ones. They werent veru good as they only had like half the content of the regular volumes - they also never released the whole series.
Japengrish...
I trust Yuki teaching me English. She looks more cuter than Kirino and Haruhi
Unfortunately, regular Yuki Nagato's style is very dry. Not even Kyon could understand her whenever she speaks about any subject without pause, and Kyon can usually comprehend most things.
You mean the Disappearance Yuki, right?
