side note, Japanese people tend to spend alot more cash on alchol and gambling than otakus spend on otaku stuff(with maybe the exeption of some few AKBFans)

First four reason seem to imply there'd be more money for her while ignoring the spending aspect of otakuness.

The way I see it, these days, the only way an otaku can get any sort of start-up with a girl is by having lots of money.
Everything else is just an excuse to convince themselves and other people that they care, but once the money goes tight, the bond already gets loose. The only exception I've seen so far is when such couple has gone through a life and death situation and they found out each other's true value.
But life isn't much a danger for most people on Earth. Most countries have much safer environment than they were just a few centuries ago, and unlike what feminazis want everyone to believe, women's rights are much more prevalent. Women nowadays don't need a man simply by virtue of him being a man anymore.
Or maybe the survival aspect has never changed after all? Just that physical danger has now become FINANCIAL danger? haha
Not if she's someone worth keeping. Any relationship built on something that can change with one capricious turn of fortune isn't worth it. Some people bond regardless of who they are and what they can do or give.
