Unfortunately this does not change the fact most such surveys of female (or even male) opinion tend to rate otaku tastes as being some of the least preferable possible…

Not every1 is like you, just because a few actually buy that or even more cd's, doesn't mean every single otaku will do the same, generelizing otaku stereotypes is wrong to start with.

10 very wishy-washy reasons. Oh boy are they in for a disappointment when half of this list didn't not turn out to be true.
the only one that wont come true is number 5, because compared to a woman who is THAT selective of who they date, the otaku will probably fit every one of those things listed, especially the "know allot of stuff" one because a woman will know mostly pop culture shit, the otaku probably knows more things that matter outside of otaku hobby.
Not quite. The Otaku are otaku because they are obsessed with their subject of interest to the point that they spend most of their time dwelling on it. It means they are lacking knowledge about anything else if they weren't obligated to learn about them. Your average otaku is not going to know squat about Pope Benedict XI's retirement or the next good read, solely because those fell outside their sphere of interest.
Some responses to the above come to mind:

I faintly remember this survey and the answers.... from... 2010? Nothing changed... Consensus at the time was "Does not cheat" and "Will spend lots of money (on you)".
They might not spend it on booze, gambling, and brand goods, but they will spend it on discs, figures, and other merchandise.

And you on the other hand, have no idea how much liquor and gambling will cost financially.

Quite a few do.
The way I see it, these days, the only way an otaku can get any sort of start-up with a girl is by having lots of money.
Everything else is just an excuse to convince themselves and other people that they care, but once the money goes tight, the bond already gets loose. The only exception I've seen so far is when such couple has gone through a life and death situation and they found out each other's true value.
But life isn't much a danger for most people on Earth. Most countries have much safer environment than they were just a few centuries ago, and unlike what feminazis want everyone to believe, women's rights are much more prevalent. Women nowadays don't need a man simply by virtue of him being a man anymore.
Or maybe the survival aspect has never changed after all? Just that physical danger has now become FINANCIAL danger? haha
Look on the bright side... a person has more self-determination over their finances than their genetics.
Not if she's someone worth keeping. Any relationship built on something that can change with one capricious turn of fortune isn't worth it. Some people bond regardless of who they are and what they can do or give.
