“That” mangaka – Mari Yamazaki, of Thermae Romae fame – will be tackling a manga edition of the biography of “that” entrepreneur – Steve Jobs, deceased founder of Apple.
The manga will be an adaptation of the Japanese edition of “Steve Jobs: The Exclusive Biography,” an official biography based on interviews with Jobs and published in 2011 with his blessing.
The manga will begin serialisation in the May edition of Kodansha’s “Kiss” magazine, according to their official Twitter account.
So far only one glimpse at the art has been revealed, and although Kiss is a josei magazine aimed at young women, Yamazaki’s distinctive art style seems to have been maintained:

Jobs is a little over rated.
Steve Wozniak designed the Apple II.
Jeff Raskin and Burrell Smith had more to do with the creation of the original Macintosh.
Steve Jobs is more like the one who gives requirements. The other ones, work to satisfy him.
Did Wozniak design the Iphone? Or the Imac?
Could Wozniak had sold the Apple IIe himself?
Or led a company?
Could he have started an industrial revolution by himself? No?
He made nothing himself. But he knew how to sell, to lead, get what he wanted and basically made a total ass of himself while he was alive.
That's why Steve Jobs is worthy of a manga. He was genius.
a genius at selling quality but overpriced stuff to clueless people, so they can use a shitload of satellites, interwebs, batteries to find their way to starbuck's around to corner.
(well, if applemaps don't send in mojave desert)
Did Jobs design the Iphone? Or the Imac?
Could Jobs had built the Apple IIe himself?
Or support a company?
Could he have started an industrial revolution by himself? No?
Not to mention there's no such industrial revolution lately. Or, which industry did you mean? Music? Smart Phone? Tablet?
He had his ways of selling and leading, doesn't mean he actual know how to sell and how to lead.
Basically, he was a genius at marketing, he saw into people. But leading and design? No he's not really any good at them, not so bad though.
Steve Jobs: Horded his money and built the world's ugliest yacht.
Bill Gates: Has given billions to third world healthcare.
Srsly, Bill Gates is in a complete other league as a person. And he's not just giving money. Since he stepped down as CEO of MS he's actively working on decreasing child death rates, fighting Polio and Malaria.
Have a look at his TED talks. Interesting stuff. While the only hit searching Steve Jobs on TED gave me a speech where he pretty much read his notes telling the students Apple is cool and MS is shit
This is why Gates lives longer.
Don't think so !
too soon
Different family back ground and different life experience. Jobs was poor, he was driven to be successful and he was not going to shy away to show off his wealthiness.
Bill Gates had flithy rich parents. Steve Jobs really started from nothing.
Dennies Ritchie was a bigger character in technology :
co-created Unix
co-created C language
Why not a manga about Ada Lovelace then? The inventor of batch processing, machine language and assembly mnemonics? It could even include scenes of steamy lesbian orgies and still be historically accurate.
Silly nerds, normal ppl don't know about what's inside their plastic toys. Steve Jobs is the inventor of rectangles with rounded edges. Ingenious.
Steve Jobs is the inventor of taking credit for other people's inventions.
To whoever downvoted 08:07:
I believe he meant Thomas Edison is the one who invented taking credit for the inventions of others.
That's 100% accurate, go read about him and Nikola Tesla. The Oatmeal has made a comic recently which sums it up:

Actually, the story behind the rounded rectangles is kinda interesting:
http://folklore.org/StoryView.py?story=Round_Rects_Are_Everywhere.txt
Don't forget to read the comments there too.
No, that's Thomas Edison.
Just last night saw Bill Burr on Night of Too Many Stars, and I had never seen Steve Jobs so succinctly shot down. Granted he was a man who spearheaded many things back in the day, and even up to his death, but unifying all that creativity under one man is a little misdirecting.
An ero-josei manga about the female pioneer of computer programming? Count me in!
victorian steamy lesbian orgies....
Ha. I feel kind of lame knowing I get this and agree.
i'd fap to that
I wish they'd make an anime about Alan Turing. He'd be voiced by Akira Ishida and be all faabulous and stuff
Then how about make a manga about Al-Khwarizmi, the person who create algebra math and algorithm.
They are nothing without algebra or algorithm
He only expounded upon the fundamentals pioneered by Greeks and Indians, essentially the Indian Subcontinent and The West. Go do some more research before thinking someone 'created' something.
I don't get all the fuzz about inventing C. It's a logical but terribly small iteration from earlier imperative system programming languages. There didn't go much inventiveness into it at all.
If anything, of all 20th century IT personalities related to programming languages, only Konrad Zuse (for conceiving the concept of high-level languages) or Grace Hopper (for inventing the compiler) come to mind as deserving the honor of a manga. I'd give similar high regards to whoever came up with OOP, but that was an unconscious, collective feat accomplished by many unrelated efforts of people who didn't realize they contributed to an actual invention until years later.
You missed Alan Turing!
He contributed immensely to computability theory and cryptography, but his set of transit functions for the Turing machine can hardly be called a high-level language (or a computer programing language at all for that matter). He's a bit outside the scope of what I was going for.
How can one compare someone like Steve Jobs -an utter idiot and extrovert- to a genius like Dennis Ritchie?
I could somewhat understand it, if one compared Steve Wozniak to Ritchie, but Steve Jobs didn't invent or create anything.
It's like Steve took rubber, someone else invented, and put it on to to a wheel, that someone else invented, of a wagon cart, that someone else invented. And because it's a rubber wheeled wagon cart and you only need to replace the rubber he's rich. If they want to mangatize that creative aspect then fine. Entrepreneurs can use a manga.
Although it feels like the hollywood accounting in the other Mari Yamazaki article.
maybe but he was fucking rich! and everyone knows him unlike the person you mentioned who is him? so maybe life is injust or maybe you are the idiot.
Wozniak is the man actually behind the early apple stuff. He was the one who did, Jobs was the one who talked
and stealed...
Thomas Edison here.
go to bed, kids.
Thomas Edison was a complete SON OF BITCH!
I agree, I am pretty sure Nikola Tesla agrees even more in his grave.
Read this if you don't know who Thomas Motherfucker Edison was:
http://theoatmeal.com/comics/tesla
(Of course Wikipedia is good too).
Tesla > Edison
One more here for Tesla > Edison
I liked him in "The Prestige"
I will enjoy this parody about a marketer
True those had a bigger impacgt on the underpinnings.
Gary Kildall also had as big an influence as Jobs and Gates.
He created CP/M which MSDOS was a copy of and the GEM desktop who's UI Windows blatantly ripped off more then MacOS.
Truly a bold move.
Zura, your bald joke wasn't transparent enough.
I look forward to the awkward doujinshi that will follow.
Yaoi dounjinshi with Woz?
Getting my brain bleach now...
How a tyrant, thief, and general asshole gets so much attention is beyond me.
His death was one of the greatest displays of divine intervention in history. Now his company needs to die along with him, releasing all of their stolen/copied/otherwise ill-gotten IP back to their origins and allowing the world to finally forget this evil son of a bitch.
Thankfully he never got into politics, otherwise we would have seen the second coming of Hitler, Stalin, and the Antichrist all combined into one being.
Sure he was a asshole but without him Mac Computers wouldn't be in Schools to play Oregon Trail or other games on a Apple 2 and Macintosh LC.
Screw his ver.1 and ver.2 of products.
