Ranma 1/2 had the same basic premise yet more plot in half an hour than this show has had in 3 SEASONS of TV series.

Comparing Ranma 1/2 to To Love Ru is like comparing diamonds to dookie. Ranma 1/2 is a classic, a masterpiece in it's time.
To Love-Ru is just a perverted mess created to get some money. It has no story and even when it did it was pretty stupid as well. The characters have as much depth as a kiddy pool. Beyond accidental falling into perverted situations these characters do absolutely NOTHING! THERE IS NO CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT! Rito is still the same accident prone fag from chapter 1! No one evolves they just created new perverted situations.
Honestly i don't know how you guys can keep watching even with all the ecchi. Watch a hentai or something it actually has sex.
It actually does but it moves at such a slow pace that it basically doesn't.

The way I see it, the author is a genius in the ways that he is able to constantly think of new ecchi situations that I hadn't even thought of before. It gives me something to dream about. Anyone could make a hentai series where the girl just gets humped just like in the last hentai, but it's so much more interesting to see all of the different ways an ecchi situation might happen. No matter how many different ecchi manga I read, I'll never be able to know all of the different ecchi situations people can come up with.
It's an ecchi series that isn't afraid to be ecchi and it really is something I respect.
If it were to become a hentai, I'd probably lose all interest.
