China Menaced by Exploding, Collapsing Highway

An exploding fireworks truck has caused an entire stretch of Chinese highway to collapse, with two of China’s most notorious and frequent accidents combining with spectacularly tragic severity.
The Henan province elevated highway collapsed after the firework laden truck blew up, taking down the entire highway and the rest of its traffic. At least 5 fatalities resulted from the explosion and subsequent collapse.
In addition to the disturbingly explosive propensities of random Chinese objects, the usual doubts over whether the build quality of the highway exacerbated the severity of the accident have been raised.

There's a massive lack of rebar and steel netting

want to check the rest of the highway before that comes down too.

True there should be at least five time more rebar then what I can see in the photo of the cross section.

I call shenanigans. This is a clever fake. This is not real China Quality construction. I don't see any styrofoam or compressed trash in the concrete. This was probably faked by the CIA or those dirty Koreans to embarrass China.

I'm fairly certain that building codes and safety standards as we think of them in the western world are virtually nonexistent in China.
Also, I wouldn't be surprised if this stuff isn't being intentionally built to fail. China is artificially raising its GDP as part of some international dick measuring contest, so it wouldn't dismiss the possibility that they're building stuff to fail so that they can boost their GDP further by rebuilding all of it.
Bridge companies there design their bridges to collapse. That way, they can sell replacements. :3
That's not how China operates. They create a company, create a sub-par service and gain extra money from skimming. When the job is done, they fire their employees and not pay them for some extra money, and then close the company. Take the money, and send it to someone in another country.

There's very little you can do about exploding fireworks anyway. In the country where I live (somewhere in Western Europe) there have in recent memory been a fireworks explosion and a gunpowder explosion. Both felled a city block. You cannot engineer against that, and even if you could, the cost would be unjustifiable.
Wonder how fun it is if Initial D were set in China. Imagine drifting through a collapsing, erupting, and exploding winding road at 150 mph...HOW EXCITING IS THAT!
