The price for this is nothing short of just plain ridiculous, 11,800 yen for a 1/8 figurine with a slightly fancy stand.
Why are you even looking at their price?! Amiami has it for 9060 right now.
The stand is really cool, also the detail of the figure is awesome, but I guess it really depends on what it's worth to you. To me, it's worth it. I love Karen. ^.^
You do realize most of that 11,800yen isn't going to the development and production costs of this figurine, but to their fancy new office at the Sky Tree?

I do realize this is all pointless talk, as a foreign consumer, nothing we say will affect their decisions.
However, it is one thing to see the value in a figurine, and yet another to blindly accept whatever they decide to charge you for it, especially with this sort of pricing with an unexplained premium.
I will gladly accept masterpiece figurines, such as the recent Ultimate Madoka and the older Black Rock Shooters, being charged at a premium if it is justified, such as due to the size, or having many detailed and delicate parts which requires more factory lines. This doesn't. Just look at the back of her hair!
At this rate, they are going to just jam a few red plastic sticks together, paste a few masks on it, and charge you 15,800 for the Tsukihi figurine.
It doesn't matter. Cost and value are two different things.

But that is not the point. Even if I have a billion dollars to spare, I am still not going to spend a 100k on a can of spam, even if they gold plate and decorate the can with a few jewels.
I will agree that she is quite well sculpted, but I will place her at around 7,000~8000 yen or so. That is what other companies have charged for figurines of this quality, and so was the case for GSC previously. That puts the stand at around 3,800 to 4,800 yen. For this price, you can basically get an entire road-roller model, and not some half sawed off hollow stand.
