I've seen them all and half of them is more a waste of time...
This would be the top comment no matter what anime was on the list.
I agree with top 7 in no specific order. Didn't see gintama maybe I should. 10 12 and 21 were cool. didnt see some others.
The sankakus dont like the popular stuff because they are cool and hardcore.
Gintama is definitely worth it. The first season is mostly comedy-type episodes, then the second season starts with the arcs that can get downright depressing or manly-tears-inducing.
This is mixed in with a liberal helping of dick jokes and toilet humor. Just had a touching revelation about changing yourself for the better? Prepare to be followed up by penises being swollen after pissing on a space worm.
Such is the brilliance of Sorachi-sensei.
haha ok Ill check it out.
Eureka 7 is amazing but im not to sue about the second season of it Ao. I've only gotten half way though it and plan on finishing it later but from what i've seen it's about a 5/10. Lets just say that the time travel factore screwed the second season up.
Fun fact: people who watch popular anime (or any TV show) just because they are popular also think the same of themselves. So, conclusion: everyone is cool and hardcore...? No, I think I will go for "Japan =/= rest of the world". Makes more sense.
Thats a tough point for you to argue because most people watch the popular stuff for no other reason than its good. It did become popular for a reason. Finding a person who likes clannad because its popular is harder than finding a person who likes it just because its good. But how easy is it to find a person who hates and rages against the popularity of naruto and bleach. Even the author of this website uses the term 'narutard' like all the cool hardcore people do haha.
@Taylor: At least "popular=good" can still be argued for the most part in regards to Akihabara's sub-culture. Do you think the same can ever be said about American pop culture any more?
The us just needs their pop culture to bounce back. 'freedom' caused everything to get overly sexualized and it lost its bite.
I'm not sure where the argument over American pop culture came from but I don't disagree. But it depends on who you ask. If you ask me and people who hang out on sankaku of course you know the answer you going to get. But don't forget outside of the otaku world the majority of people don't give a sht about Akihabara, Japan, or Japanese culture. While the US is still technically the most influential place on Earth. In fact pretty much all of Japans pop culture including animation originated in the us.
Yeah, like Ano Hana, that piece of shit
I think you don't have eny friends...
Friends are for losers!... Wait, let me try that again.
I agree Ano Hana was quite a disappointment. I have NO CLUE why ppl like it that much. Goddamn anime fans lately are frikking incomprehensible
I enjoyed AnoHana, but I will say this: any time I hear "noitaminA", I think "pretentious, overhyped bullshit". AnoHana was an exception (at least IMO), but nonetheless, it sickens me how people go on about these shows being the most intellectual of intellectual anime just because of what fucking block they aired on.
don't talk about your mom that way
I think that good things in this list are 2, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 18 an 21.
I agree completely, watching any anime is a waste of time.
How the hell did Acchi Kocchi even get in this list? lol
Why the hell isn't it in the top 10?
Ready for down vote.

Real loose girlfriend if all that can fit up her puter
I wasted my life watching Gundam Seed.
Still better than K-On
The fact that Gundam Seed is on the list negates the list entirely
Elevens LOVED Gundam Seed, much the same way the NA audience loves reality TV shows.
I heard they hated Wing but we in america loved Wing.
Destiny was fubaring it up a lot sooner then the end lol.
Dn't know why the whine factor is high on this comment, but the analogy is sound. I think Destiny had a better idea, but FUBAR'd it up in the end.. again.
Ginge E kickoff was not a life watcher xd
still better than beverly holls 90210
Where's INITIALLLLLL DDDDD??!
I'm with ya dude.
Still better than 00.
S1 is godlike. S2 is the shitty one.
The first (and only) episode of S2 was Great Science Fiction w/ the weight of stupid dumbassary that is S1 to finally drag it down.
S1 much better than SEED, S2 not as good as the first but better than Destiny...
Still better than madoka
I didn't want to waste my life watching anything Gundam
Spin on it fool. The very FIRST 1978 episode of Mobile Suit Gundam puts Every completed or ongoing show out now to task.
Does not. At least not if you watched it in this century. Memories get kind of blurry with time, so don't rewatch even the first episode if you treasure that particular memory.
smart man
Dumb shitter, really.
Railgun. . . . .BUT NO INDEX!?
You have to be kidding me.
seriously, railguns a damn spin-off. . . .
railgun was made just for the moe and yuri factor. Index was for the ecchi but mostly story. Now you can see where japans real taste come into play. Not that we haven't know this for ages already anyway.
I have, and I don't see the problem with that statement. No one watched Railgun for anything except fanservice, and there was precious little else there except some incredibly silly DBZ-style fights and a couple of "friendship" moments that people try to pretend they watched it for.
You obviously haven't seen it.
Railgun gave the best characters in the series far more spotlight than the main series. Also, having a likeable protagonist goes a long way.
Too bad it went nowhere with those things. Once you strip away the three or four episodes that had anything to them, it's just another ecchi fanservice anime. The only reason it was more popular was because it focused on the girls rather and reduced the guy to comic relief. Unless you think that "drugs are bad, mmmkay?" theme was enough to redeem it, I guess.
fuk man the only reason people watched index was because of Misaka. So of course railgun would be better.
You got it wrong. Index was first and people only watched Railgun because of Mikoto and Kuroko. Two very good reasons, mind you. But the rest of that anime was just plain shit.
Agreed the story bored the shit out of me. There was too much moe and not enough story so i stalled halfway though.
index not as good as misaki misaki.
