Forgive my ignorance - I'm from the past...
Some of those parts look pretty breakable - how would you receive a figure like that? Fully assembled? Mostly assembled with a few slot-in pieces? In the 90s, a figure like that would be made of brittle resin, cost 2-3x as much, and come in a bunch of unpainted pieces you'd have to sand seams off of, glue together, prime, and paint yourself...

well i know from experience. I got a rare Shinobu Meahara figure several years ago for nearly $200 that they only made 800 of and when it arrived in the mail and i opened it up the back arm had broken off. stupid resin. I complained that my figure was broken on delivery and the store never replied.
You're thinking of garage kits, not prepainted figures. But figures like this have indeed become more durable than past. Not all the parts are made of resin.
Yeah. Late 90s, there were a few prepainted figures, but often cheap in price and appearance. They were sort of like upscale action figures. I figured with the flying hair, they might have had to use something stiffer than PVC and maybe make it plug into her head so it'd keep the right shape in shipping.
Either way, it's awesome that you don't have to be a master artist to have a figure like this now.
Possibly the coolest figure I have ever seen. If I actually knew what Black Rock Shooter was, I`d get it. Unfortunately I don`t like to buy figurines unless I`m familliar with the series that they`re are from. This is a video game or something right?

Nope. Not even close.
First, it was an original character by Huke (Steins;Gate character designs are also his work), with some blurry backstory. A long time before Hatsune Miku was around.
Then there was Ryo, a Vocaloid producer, who liked B*RS so much that he have written a song about her. And since all his songs were insanely popular, this was another hit.
Then, a young animation company Ordet made an OVA (it was their first 100% own project), and then one short season (8 episodes) of TV anime (both were good, especially TV). Between tnese two, there were a game, which were boring and ruined the original concept of B*RS, biggest fail.
Also, there are lots of manga, two more games, also, as I remember, she have a cameo in some nendoroid-based RPG for PSP.
BRS has an anime, OVA, Game, but at the beginning it's just an illustration that made into a MV... Personally, I really love the concept and character design,, I have all BRS series figures (except iBRS figma),, even though i dont watch the anime bcs it sucks :p

Girl+scrapmetal=cyborg. Cyborg=instant WIN. Also, she proves that woman can be beautiful with her breasts smaller than her head (moreover, she is as flat as a washboard, yet absolutely gorgeous.)
Considering that she is very slim and very leggy, being small-chested is hardly a detriment to her overall look.

Excellent! I've been waiting for the release of this figure since seeing the non-colored prototype pics of it earlier this year. Looks just as badass when painted as I had imagined. Gotta get a pre-order on this soon. I've a feeling this'll sell out pretty quick.

I miss the sexy scars! Huke's original designs for BRS and IBRS had nasty scars on the abdomen. The TV animation removed them. :(
