China’s world-beating trains are catching up to Japan’s in more ways than one – subway congestion is now almost at Tokyo levels, though with passengers merely defecating in the carriages rather than sexually assaulting one another.
The Beijing subway is now so overcrowded it has borrowed the “pushers” which are so emblematic of the Tokyo commuter experience, although unfortunately not any of the elaborate manners and etiquette:

There's still plenty of space being underutilized in these carriages. In addition to people-stacking, there should be plenty of room under the seats, on the roof and hanging from the exterior walls. You should be able to fit at least another dozen passengers into the cab with the train operator as well.

Now i know ppl are all talking about shitting in the train but a bigger effect would be if someone threw up in a train that packed because that would cause a vomit chain reaction of people seeing people throw up smelling it and then throwing up them selves it would be like a family guy episode
Their trying to do mass transit throughout america which is admirable but wouldn't work even in a hundred years. Their are just to many nasty, crazy, and generally rude people here in america. Hell their would be at least a few hundred fights a day on those trains if you crammed that many people that close to one another.
The main problem with mass transit in the United States is that things are spread far apart in much of the country, due to it being such a large place, with most people having their own vehicles. In urban centers like New York it can work pretty well, but in the smaller cities and towns across the nation it isn't really such a good option.

Why don't they just build the trains like they build the tramway in Denver Airport. Train exits on one side and fills from the other. One platform boards the train and one platform empties it.
Subway trains need to go both ways, and if you use dual platforms for both directions you would need at least 3 platforms with underpass connecting each one. Space tend to be at a premium for inner city subway stations.
When the train is packed like that I doubt you'd ever make it to the "exit" side of the train. Heck the people pushing in would just end up pushing people out who don't want out.
