Nekomonogatari Kuro Unveiled

Monogatari fans have finally been granted Nekomonogatari Kuro (Black)’s trailer and release details, although some eyebrows have been raised at it being a scant 4 episodes long.
The trailer, revealing it takes the form of a late night 2 hour broadcast, due on the 31st of December:
There has been a certain amount of controversy amongst fans as to whether 2 hours is too short for the adaptation to do the source material justice (2 light novels in total, “white” and “black”), although most seem to feel it is a sound decision.

Isnt the shiro light novel adaption going to be seperate from the kuro one seeing it only says nekomonogatari kuro in the preview? Meaning it is 4 episodes for 1 light novel which should be enough really.

That was my assumption as well. From the first announcement, they've only mentioned Black, not White. If I had to guess, I would say that they might follow up with White sometime late next year. If their schedule for next year works out they way I expect it is intended to, they ought to be able to squeeze it in (after Madoka, I would think).
Actually, given that the remaining novels are all single arcs (unlike Bake and Nise), specials like these, rather than full-cour series, may be the model for the rest of the way.

This is the last thing you should worry about when watching *monogatari series. This stuff is not about ecchi at all.

God, Hanekawa was one thing (it at least tried to symbolize something). Karen cutting off her ponytail for the hell of it was another. However, when I saw Hitagi in the final scene of Nisemonogatari, that's when I went into some serious WTFing. -_- I bet next, Kanbaru's just gonna go completely bald.
Probably Ishin's take on what makes the beach episodes in other franchises, the difference being it may be off-putting. Fortunately for the work, it only affects the character realm.
I can't blame the guy if he has some kind of short-hair fetish, but why in god's name did he need to establish about half the damn cast as long-haired women only to change all of them later. If he likes it so much, couldn't he just have everyone be short-haired in the first place? Well, maybe that is a tad unreasonable, especially for a harem (variety in girls is usually expected)... but then again, the same could be said of NOT leaving at least one or two girls long-haired.

Kanbaru's growing hers out currently. $10 says it's just so she can dramatically cut her hair later too, to "symbolize" her character growth...and then she'll no doubt continue acting exactly the same anyway, making it symbolize nothing in truth.

So their never going to show Araragi as a vampire are they? It seems like their trying to produce as many fanservice episodes as possible now and leaving the ones that actually have a story in the dust.
Uh, they announced they were working on Kizu, like, a year ago.
Yup, apparently it got delayed.
I can't cite a source, but I read somewhere that it's "nearly finished," to the point where they feel like they could have had it out by the end of the year if they had wanted to, and that they're planning to release it in late spring or early summer.
They've got a lot on their plate for next year, though: Sasami-san@Ganbaranai next season, Magical Suite Prism Nana (presumably in the spring), Kizumonogatari, Madoka Part III, and I fully expect some more Hidamari Sketch specials in the fall.
But... this is shaft! 'Almost Done' stage of production doesn't occur until after it's shown!
