The precocious fashions of Japan’s JS fashionistas (“joshi shougakusei” – elementary school girls) have again been attracting attention – this time it is their efforts to impart some style onto their “randosel” school bags.

Elementary school girl fashion watchers (or so it must be hoped) also provide their own contributions – although unsurprisingly it is not just their bags which have aroused comment online, the length of their hemlines also for some reason being of some concern:
They should wear longer skirts….for God’s sake they’re kids.
What’s going through that thought-process of yours? This isn’t roman catholic private school it’s just a regular school.
And to be honest i’ve seen the same type of skirt-lengths sold in stores in NA here. Talk about double-standards.

Though honestly I agree those backpacks need some sprucing up. They’re damn tacky looking.

Didn’t Japan stop the use of school swimsuits because it was such a popular fetish? How long until they kill school gym uniforms, sailor uniforms, and the the leather backpacks?
