US Sailor Busted Nude in Manga Cafe: “I Only Pissed There!”

A US sailor has been arrested for lurking naked in a Yokohama manga cafe in the middle of the night despite a military curfew, though he protests that he “only urinated in there.”
According to Kanagawa prefectural police, 23-year-old petty officer third class Oscar Weigle, serving aboard the American nuclear carrier USS George Washington, was reported for indecent exposure in a central Yokohama manga cafe.
According to the cafe’s account, he had arrived with another 21-year-old serviceman at midnight, and the pair had each retired to individual booths.
Wiegle however disrobed in the booth and around 3:15AM started wandering the corridors of the establishment naked, and to add injury to insult relieved himself there in the corridor between booths.
After police arrested him for public indecent, he protested his (partial) innocence, saying “I did urinate in there, but I wasn’t naked!”
He also faces possible military discipline as US forces are supposedly under curfew, and there are by now some understandable doubts in Japan as to how rigorously these restrictions have been enforced. The US military for its part says the incident “is under investigation.”

This type of behavior is hardly unique to the US Navy.
This is actually pretty mild compared to some of the stories things I heard of happening when oil field workers return from remote drilling camps or fishermen return at the end of the season.
Whenever you have a group of men who do not have any form of meaningful recreation for months on end esp within a highly regimented environment you get incidents like this when they finally have some time away.
Japan even has their own flavor of it with the exploits of drunken salary men esp those in higher management positions.

A friend of mine saw a women take a shit next to a busy road.
Instead of doing it indoors in a shop the Japanese choose to do it outside in front of everyone.

I hate to say it but this seems all to common with the navy not the the US's but all Navies and seamen in general as it seems to be a cultural thing.
When they get shore leave after being stuck on a ship for weeks or months at time the first order of business is to get piss drunk.
Oil workers have similar issues after weeks on a drilling darrick or on some remote drilling location, they go wild once they have time off.
It's like all the wild behavior that has been repressed for months is suddenly released.
