    I actually like the story and setting of SAO very much. The first part was excellent and transitioned somewhat unexpectedly to AO but it still is very interesting and definitely makes me want to see how it continues.

    As for any fanservice, meh who cares. I definitely prefer a good and entertaining story.

    Probably not happening. They may wait until Alicization is complete and make a second season, but SAO willl end after rescuing Asuna, maybe with the epilogue-like episode (or ova).

    Another plot hole one you could fly a a star destroyer through wouldn't the technology become banned right away if it was found to be dangerous?
    The game boy VR died quickly because it caused head aches.
    They took off an episode of pokemon off the air because it caused seizures.
    If something was leaving people comatose by the thousands the government most likely would ban it and the company who produced it would be sued out of existence.

    From what I understand the company that made SAO did get sued and the servers were bought up by another company to maintain. That company then ripped off SAO's software to make it's own game unbeknownst to everyone. New headsets were released so they're safer.

    Also I don't think they've perfected the memory altering technology yet and are using the people from SAO as test subjects.

    It is daft though that anybody would allow their kids to go near VR games after what happened with SAO especially kirito's mother.

    Well, Kirito's mother is a very tech-affine person too. The device had to pass a rigorous official checkup to make sure it doesn't contain any traps or hidden systems (elaborated on in the novel). The nerve interfacing VR tech itself is completely harmless. There's no way all parents would prevent their children from getting an AmuSphere anyway, and the largest player demographic is actually college age.

    The memory altering procedure has indeed not been completed yet. But the elf king dude gets a kick out of trying to break her for real, without the use of cheap tricks.

    you do got a point but this is anime/manga logic though it would not surprise me that maybe the company got bought out by another to pay for the damages and all lawsuits would make more sense if it was impounded by the government then still on works again to pay for all damages and as international mind control study? maybe?

    It is better when making Asuna slowly succumbs to despair. Sugou is a total sadist taking pleasure in slowly breaking the girl mentally and physically. The damage to Asuna (and henceforth the pleasure to Sugou) will increase if the process is slowly done.
