Azusa wasn't cute, she was an killjoying brat the writers tried desperately to make cute. I still like her, she just wasn't cute. I say this as a big K-on fan.
Rikka's cuteness far surpasses that of any previous anime character ever written and cannot be compared to anyone else. She is the new bar set that other characters must aim to reach. Her servant also has strong levels of cuteness not to the heights of rikka but still also far surpassing that of most anime characters in the modern era. Comparable to the likes of cuteness greats like Inaba Himeko.

Yeah, the eyepatch is kinda cliche, and many character in anime in the past wear it. But never, ever let it be the one and only reason to put Chuunibyou in your "not going to watch" list. Just give it a chance, you may like it.
