Animal rights maniacs PETA have been condemning Nintendo’s Pokémon franchise for abusing fictional animals, releasing “Pokémon Black & Blue” to prove their point.
Part of their latest screed:
Much like animals in the real world, Pokémon are treated as unfeeling objects and used for such things as human entertainment and as subjects in experiments.
The way that Pokémon are stuffed into pokéballs is similar to how circuses chain elephants inside railroad cars and let them out only to perform confusing and often painful tricks that were taught using sharp steel-tipped bullhooks and electric shock prods.
If PETA existed in Unova, our motto would be: Pokémon are not ours to use or abuse. They exist for their own reasons. We believe that this is the message that should be sent to children.
As in previous cases of PETA picking on Nintendo, there is a strong suspicion the organisation is merely odiously attempting to generate cheap exposure for itself based on the latest release in a popular franchise.

PETA killed 87% of the 32000 animals they "rescue" in between 1998 and 2011, because they have other priorities to spend their $37 million budget on. They rather hire some models, than search for new homes for the animals.

There is, it's called "the right to keep and bear arms." PETA are eco-terrorists, eventually they will strike at people in thier homes, and when they do we'll have a surprise waiting for them, they have to strike out against the Japanese and video games, they already got away with stuff here in the U.S. they know if they try it again they'll lose government support and finally be branded the terrorists that they are.
I believe that in England some PETA members were arrested for harassing/threatening laboratory staff. Peta forked up though, the staff they were threatening didn't even work in the animal research division.
See. Now if PETA actually did their research they'd know pokeballs convert pokemon into energy. As energy lifeforms, they're also granted nutrients and etc.

The silly thing about this, is that you fight Ghetsis and he's obviously a terrible person (and even mentions the twist at the ned of Black and White), then at the end a slowpoke shows up and says Team Plasma is fighting for animal rights.

The antagonist team is basically a version of PETA that uses exploits pokemon while trying to argue against it. It's more akin to someone trying to argue against cock-fighting by training a bird to cockfight.

Remember when Ash challenged the Viridian Gym. When team rocket made the battle more "challenging" by making the trainer feel what the pokemon feels when its hurt. It actually has an extremely fast growing population due to the territory of their prey shrinking and concentration of them therefore.

When I read this kind of news, I always remember something what happened some years ago...
A national official investigation institute in my country, devoted to fight against machism, gender equality and similiar causes made a study (paid with our taxes, of course) accusing a NBA franchise video game of being overly sexist for not including any female player...
Yeah, that was paid with our taxes...
And of course, nobody in that institute said anything about real women not allowed to play in men's leagues in any sport... They just complained about a videogame, censoring it instead of taking action in a possible REAL case of gender disequality.
