An aspiring ero-mangaka faces criminal charges after sharing his “old-fashioned” works with an unwilling public, Comiket and the Internet having apparently proven unsuitable venues for establishing his fame.
The unemployed 44-year-old Kobe man began his reign of terror by attempting to share his manga with local residents, entering a private parking lot to attach his manga to cars there for the benefit of their owners, and pinning up his works in the common areas of nearby apartments.
Police soon received reports of “indecent manga being posted up here,” and launched an investigation. Thankfully for them it did not strain their powers of inquiry – the aspiring mangaka immediately admitted his guilt when voluntarily questioned, saying “I wanted to show the area my talent for manga.”
Police soon uncovered dozens of pages of his raunchy works from his residence, complete with tape for easy display, and are assembling a prosecution including 5 counts of trespass for entering local apartment buildings, and a further count for entering the private car park, as well as minor offences relating to actually displaying the material in public.
Locals are happy the rogue mangaka has finally been brought to justice – though one 47-year-old man is also as sniffy about his art style as he is about his antics themselves:
“There are lots of kids around here but new manga kept going up – it was more than I could bear. His art looked like it was from a previous era, I could hardly believe he is from my generation!”
Unfortunately police have chosen not to share the offending art with the public (although considering the popularity of the story online this would doubtless qualify as a triumph for him), leaving ero-manga aficionados to speculate gleefully as to what “manga from a previous era” implies:
“Why couldn’t he just publish a doujinshi like everyone else?”
“Send it to Kairakuten already!”
“Keep it to Pixiv…”
“Go start a thread for the Vippers!”
“Being an artist and being a mangaka are two different things though – just because he does well on Pixiv doesn’t mean he would be good at making readable manga.”
“So were these eighties style illustrations?”
“Something like these?”
“There’s plenty of demand for old-fashioned styled manga though.”
“I expect the boys of the neighbourhood were pretty happy about him.”
“The guy they interviewed about him was an otaku too it seems…”
“He sounds like he knows his stuff.”
“This kind of imbecilic incident could only happen in Japan.”
“The guy must have been pretty good for his art to be deemed ‘obscene’…”
“Old style art must mean he was pretty good? The art you see these days is pretty quick to draw and they are always getting busted for lazily ripping off backgrounds.”
“I just want to see his stuff.”

If he was near Akiba, he could have sold it on consignment at a display case at Hobby Heaven (ホビー天国) unless they have some no-ero policy...
And Cream Lemon! Nice! I've never seen either of those scans! Back when I was first getting into anime (well, knowing what it was) in the mid-90s, English ero-fanfic was called "lemons" owing to that series. It was also the birthplace of Project A-ko, a true classic.
He thought the neighbors would say "In the name of the moon, I will publish you!"
I loled.
the last manga cover seems to be for some hard core material than the others!
Well, if you make good stuff and come up with a good theme, you can do extremely well.
Artists like Valssu that started out by just drawing Tales pictures on pixiv, to being in the top 10 with every new doujin on online sales sites like dlsite and the like have proven that.
Retro goodness on my car for free? I would have supported him...
so many retro manga's featured here, and where's Dororon Enpi-chan on their list....
i want to buy his work, i love retro style. not always the present is new.
The female version of HENTAI KAMEN EXIST!
lol that's the exact same thing I thought when I saw pic #1
They were mad cus she wore undies on her head!!!
Stupid Japan! Stop arresting your own artists!!!!
Some people cant appreciate retro style manga, what a shame.
Because its awful
It's not awful it's just a different style of the genre in that time when things were more hand-drawn then they were computer-enhanced. Osamu Tezuka anyone?
He writes fucking good and did retro all the time. Give respect to your retro artist they did a lot of stuff by hand and whether you like it or not those artist basically "founded" manga into what it revolved into today.
it was secretly Go Nagai
Just love the stuff: http://blog-imgs-45.fc2.com/u/n/d/underworld2ch/20120420134250_18_1.jpg
After people read about this incident online / hear from someone else, they'll go find this douji, and I bet it's already more popular then it would ever be if it was to appear only on some manga/douji event. So I guess it's a win for this epic guy
Is this guy still around or did he get thrown in the slammer and discourage from making any more manga.
I want to see this man's work and his 'masked panty' heroine comedy.
OMFG i was looking for 'new' retro manga for a long time and this guy looks like the ticket.
Wtf is wrong with you now Japan. Treating artist and manga artist like criminals now!
Too bad he didn't just publish the works and hosted it online.
we need more mangaka like this guy!
Is this guy still have a retro brain that he doesn't know about "internet power" which can make you a world-class famous celeb in an instant ?
Last pic looks like Nazo no Kanojo X, or does Kanojo X look like the last pic?
What's the name of the website again?
Too bad, Must have been under priced. So he had to be shut down for the good of the industry.
heeey, pic 5 was hot, the others where ero chibi. I liked them =)
Girl in first pic looks like Miku!
miku's long lost sister from the 70's!
gotta love Go Nagai!
MAJIN GO!!!
BLACK ROCK SHOOTER!!
I like his work, from whats shown above, thats a shame.
IDIOT!, those are examples of ero mangas, the real work was confiscated and not made public.
NOw if only we had the name of the mangaka we could look up those works.
I can see both sides of this argument. On one hand, the manga might have been to raunchy to put out in public and possibly parents and stuff didn't want their kids exposed to it.
I'm not sure how free speech and such works in Japan but I'll bet it's not as good as in the U.S. (Which is already starting to kind of fall apart) so whether that would even hold up as an argument is beyond my level of knowledge about Japanese law.
On the other, dude wanted to get his name out there and so thought giving people free content was a good way to do it. Though he probably could have done a better job. Like maybe giving it to a mailman and asking them to put it in mailboxes, or as some of the 2ch comments suggest, posting it online where it's easier to get feedback on your work.
AHHHHHH my young eyes!!!! my youthful eyes!!!!AHHHHHH!!!!!
AHHHHHH my chance !!!! my chance to go to japan !!!!AHHHHHH!!!!!
For great justice!
His showa era artwork looks pretty good. Too bad no one wants that simplistic styling anymore, nor is his name is not Leiji Matsumoto.
Also the dude should have created a lighthearted doujin series to distribute, not an actual h-manga. At least then he wouldn't be getting arrested for violating Japan's obscene laws, nor having a bunch of extra trumped up charges thrown on.
I LOVE THE 2ND PIC !!!!
So where can I find this mans work!?
This is so much prettier than modern manga!
i want to buy his work, i love retro style. not always the present is new.
The USAnization of Japan is alarming
It's disgusting! Why the hell is Japan trying to embrace pineheads over here anyway. Their just praticually scared of nakedness of cartoons.
Someone know what titles are the ones being shown? Are there anywhere on the net °_°??
i only know one, AND I WANT IT
any scanlation of CREAM LEMON? guise?
The first is Maboroshi Panty, by Hiroshi Koenji and Go Nagai.
Second to last is Futari to 5-nin, by Hideo Azuma (author of Olympus no Pollon - I grew up watching the anime). Hope this helps.
Is there any place to dl "Futari to gonin"?
まぼろしパンティー Phantom Panty
くりぃむレモン Cream Lemon (x2)
ふたりと5人 A Couple and 5 people
微笑むオブジェ Smiling Objet
You'll probably only find Cream Lemon. The whole series has been subbed, and some episodes were even made before the era of pixellation in anime, later(?) censored. It's not easy to find, but if you persevere you'll get it. Lots of ecchi, some yuri, early lolicon and typically cute loli-looking characters. A fair amount of humor - it's mostly pretty lighthearted stuff.
As for scans of any of them... I really doubt it, but I'd love to see it.
Some corrections - at least a few early eps of Cream Lemon were subbed, by lamonae and Lilicious, and I've seen the original series ripped to ep 27, probably the whole thing. I think there were some other spinoffs later.
Looks like Amazon Japan has some if you copy+paste the titles. You should be able to find a good Japanese shopping service (like Goody Japan) to order and ship them to you, but make sure customs in your country won't just steal them on sight.
