Seriously? These lists are just getting way too stupid. Who even votes for these polls?

I say, Code Geass and Star Driver had fantas-Fabulous settings.

    This list is for shame.

Code Geass? As much as i love it you didn't get the point of the list did you? "mysterious, magical, fantastic and original worlds"...
An American occupied Japan is barely unrealistic...

Wow, not only did you get the setting of Code Geass completly wrong you managed to believe that the majority of that list was somehow "mysterious, magical, fantastic or original".

It's actually occupied by Brittania (aka. England) and America never existed. In Code Geass, the American Revolution failed, ergo, no America.

    Britania is not England.

Trigun? Eat-man '98? Kino no Tabi? El Hazard? Utawarerumono? Escaflowne?

None of those made it? Seriously?

Can I think of another phrase or sentence to end with a question mark and put it in this post?

They are not moe. And too old. And without computer graphics, lesbians, explanation of anything unstated and, yet again, MOE. You know, everybody likes it. And every anime fan must say he watched all Evangelion and liked it (bcuz its xtremly cul), even if he never have seen a single picture of Rei, and say he can understand it if he tried watching, but turned off after 5 minutes because of headache.
Anime world is rotten, it will collapse to america (what Gainax already did) if we don't do something about it. We need more normal otaku.

Did you know... There are three types of otaku. Those who seek strength, those who live for moe, and those who know what anime can be. Those are three. And him...

There's lesbians in Eat Man '98. First story arc. The telling point is there is only one anime on this that is older than 6 years old, which means it was complied by morans and is frivolous.

Assuming "mysterious, magical, fantastic and original worlds" as a limiting factor, here is a better top ten

    Akazukin Chacha
    Spice and Wolf
    Madoka
    Earl and Fairy
    Katanagatari
Yami to Boushi to Hon no Tabibito
    Tears to Tiara
    Fullmetal Alchemist (the good version)
    Haibane Renmei
    Slayers

Angel Beats...It was such a good idea, it had so much potential, it had it's moments but damn.
    I was so disappointed.

Same with Durarara!! and Index. (imho)

Bakemonogatari and Haruhi however are just amazing.

    Well, I'll need to explain.
Durarara. Have lots of good characters, most of them have insane superpowers or mind, pretty interesting setting... But instantly focuses on three ordinary (or almost-ordinary) students. Fail.

Index. Haven't got much potential from the beginning. Eventhough it was maxed out gorgeously, it still isn't good enough.

    AB!. Same as Index.

Bakemonogatari. Shaft. Anything you need to know. But I liked Staple Stable opening.

Haruhi. Bad story. Bad realization- ranobe was a lot more interesting. Characters are either plagued, like Yuki, or grotesque, like Haruhi. And where is fantastic setting there? All SOS-dan and Tsuruya are just trolling poor Kyon. Just like I am trolling you.

Sadly I would have to agree. Pokemon is quite a dynamic world. Kid show yes but it can still as a setting hold its own or best most new shows.

Why isn't Cowboy Bebop on the list? This toplist is invalid.

    Comment by Anonymous
    20:53 23/09/2012 # ! Neutral (+0.2)

Because there is nothing fantastic about cowboy bebops setting, it was the characters and situation that made that show great, the backdrops were more or less for the development of those two aspects.

NGN, Index & Mankind has Declined are the only decent settings on that list. Although Index is the only one with actually thought out history, the other two were simply fly by the pants.

Angel Beats! is like cowboy bebop in the respect of the setting being nothing more then a backdrop to the character development except the situation also pushes that development with the setting.

The follow up question to that ranking should have been "do you know the meaning of a setting with regards to storytelling" and most of them would have gone blank faced.

Why isn't "Origins: Spirits of the Past" on this list! That setting was beautiful and awesome at the same time. A post apocalyptic world that's controlled by a sentient forest that destroyed mankind.

Well, this category excludes only shoujo and SOLs. And what we see? Yes, ye ole "Short Memory Test". Moe, moe, MOE, OMAIGAWDURLESBIAN, heavy yaoi, computer graphics and obligatory Holy Evangelion (and moe nun for more HOLYness). I don't want to live on this planet anymore.
