Except DxD makes no explicit mention of any religion. You're fooling yourself if you think it does. The mild religious overtones are just used as a back-drop to portray demons in a non-black and white light.

And 15 stories? My God, how I hate obnoxious hyperbole.

What makes DxD great is that its elements combined work better than most that attempt to do the same; it blends harem, romance, comedy, perversion, and a little bit of drama much better than most that attempt it. It's protagonist, who may be your standard idiotic pervert, is highly sympathetic, and does so much more to earn the love of the girls, it's not even arguable. You wouldn't be able to name single damn "ecchi" protagonist who sacrifices body parts in order to protect the girl he loves and later even dies for it. Another great thing about DxD, is that the female characters, for the most part, aren't useless bimbos. They're both strong and feminine, something 90% of harem chicks fail at. That's speaking on a character level. The anime manages to establish a great atmosphere, great production values, much higher than your standard ecchi fare, the voice work is so energetic and convincing; it's like the voice actors don't even exist, they meld and become one with their characters, the art direction is solid, and the animation is much, much better than your average anime. The sum of the parts here is far greater than the whole, which is why so many people like it.

I'm sorry, but the minute you attempt to portray DxD as inferior to, like, any other ecchi anime, you are OBJECTIVELY wrong.

Oh, and DxD being an affront to your sensibilities as a theologist or whatever the fuck you call yourself? Really? At this point one can only say that you're taking it way too seriously.

A few things:
1- I afforded myself a different kind of obnoxious luxury - that mild personal attack - that you did yourself: appealing to your own authority and hubris. I see no problem here. Unless you possess any double standards? :)

2- In that "story", I very clearly delineated why DxD is a notch above most ecchi. Whether you read my post or acknowledge that fact is no skin off of my back; I don't need you acknowledge the validity of geocentric theory in order for it to be true.

3- As 16:13 has said, there is not a HINT of objectivity in your assessment of DxD, only hilariously subjective metrics used to measure objectivity.

4- It's so very ironic that you call me out on my "unclear" presentation of my arguments, yet yours, in comparison, is severely lacking. Is the trope "brick of text" foreign to you?

5- I think I'm about done here, as it seems you aren't interested in being confronted by reason or rational discourse yourself (if you were, half the things present in your miserable excuses for arguments would not be present).

What's more, you essentially claim to have superior tastes, then go on to name Ladies vs. Butlers as a favorite of yours? You realize that the characters, writing, and plot are total garbage, right? Or is it good by virtue of you liking it alone?
