Import is possible but if DLC's come out in the furture you can't buy it unless you play the game on a Japanese account since DLC is profile locked and can't be shared.
Anyway Miku is wonderful and the whole world should be playing this game!
You can also just download the game from the JP store, if you are already on a JP account, its cheaper than importing and the game is just 2.4gb
I work for sega and the reason it's not going to be distributed here in america is because we don't think she's that popular outside of japan. I'm a vocaloid fan and I'm trying to convince them to distribute this game but there's absolutely a 5-10% chance that it will get distributed outside of japan.
I think the game could sell in the US, the Vita library is so thin right now that it could help it grow and capitalize on that. Rhythm games players, anime lovers and Miku fans would probably get it. I know it seems risky but I think it'd do pretty good as a download title. I don't have a Vita yet but if I could get an english version of this I would get the Vita.
Even just making it download only I'm happy.
It's a pain to keep switching memory cards back and forth for Vita to change the regions.
I don't want to play on my US account and then later lose all that progress once DLC is out.
Playing on my Japanese account means I have to switch memory card...
Even if you can get SEGA to release a download version that'd be great.
Actually I'd prefer a DL version cuz I don't have to change carts and I can always watch and play Project Diva without having to bring a carrying case if I also play other games.

Forget about limited edition cuz that might piss people off for the ones who can't get it and they might not get a Vita just for that. Those who want can import the Miku Vita itself since everything will be exactly the same as a US Vita without restrictions.
The DLC now is actually the region protection/limitation which I really hate. Wish Vita would allow at least one shared account so DLC's would work between regions.

People need to seriously email SEGA of where ever you are.
They are not willing to release this game in you region because they probably have no idea how many people are actually willing to buy the game once they spend the money to license it, that's why they are not releasing.
If people work together and email them to give them an idea the number of the fan base, maybe THEN there will be a possibility for release out side of Japan and Asia.
Do your part and email SEGA if you want this game and keep letting SEGA in your region know how Miku is loved all over the world and not just in Japan.

I was playing with the AR before, it's fun.
It's not really 'dating', it calls it 'portrait'. You can move the Vocaloid character around the screen, adjust angle/size etc but they're not actually moving. They're just fixed in that one pose, and you insert that pose into the picture. The final pictures look cute, but its not like its Love Plus or anything. With the Live function where you use an AR marker you can move your PSP and walk 'around' the Miku in your room and view her from many angles, although its difficult because the small size of the Vita relative to a life-sized miku makes it often lose sight of where she(ie the AR marker) is if you get too close.
Getting to pat them on the head and play Rock Paper Scissors is much cuter IMO.
