oh otaku and their 30 second memory
seriously where the fuck is eva
Evangelion had a manga first.
The Eva manga hit the street first (mostly because of delays in the production of the anime, IIRC), but they were completely distinct: the anime was in no way an "adaptation."
I suppose we shouldn't be surprised at the short memory at this point, but there were a shitload of shows of this type back in the '70s, some of which were seminal. Space Battleship Yamato and the original Mobile Suit Gundam come readily to mind. The former, especially, might have been expected to make the list, given the fact that the remake is airing next year.
no they didn't
the manga was a "pilot". Nausicaa had an artbook of sorts before, too
because is shit???
You gotta be kidding...
Neon Genesis Evangelion?
Some animes on this list are not even original.
And no Cowboy Bebop?
You must be American... still liking Cowboy Bebop and probably Evangelion, really stop sucking that dick, you dumb fag.
Go back to AnimeNewsNetwork Forum where all the faggots belong.
No Eureka Seven or Cowboy Bebop?
no eden of the east? well now i'm sad.
#35.
No Haibane Renmei? Sad.
Especially considering it did half of Angel Beats work for it.
Gundam, macross, eureka seven, votoms, dourgram don,t show?
I'm not sure about Gundam, since it had a manga, but I don't remember if it was simultaneous or made before the anime. I agree about Macross though.
Another list, this is interesting. I will now contribute in the only way i know how!
Lelouch lives! His anime should be #1 on this list and to anyone who thinks otherwise...You are wrong!
CG could be a lot better and many questions were left unanswered, most likely forever.
I didn't think CG was bad, but #1.... yeah no way lol.
Code Geass was...I'll be simple and straight forward: bad.
comparing gundam 00 and code geass, the former is way superior in every single aspect.
@05:22. Yeah, you're right. Code Gayass sucks
even Gundam G is better than Code Gayass, and that's saying a lot
I liked it when it was called " Gundam Insert Word or Letter Here". Wait. No I didn't.
lawl..
plz go back to watching moe and bite the dust when u reach wizard lvl
im implying that those that dislike any serious thinking or a little complicated anime are mainly moe watchers who prefere the easy on the eyes and brain anime.
tbh theres very few anime that can be called outright bad, even while typing this i cant think of any, every anime has something that keeps it from 'bad' and like CG its far from 'bad', u my not have enjoyed it, but anime is hardly ever 'bad'
Seems to me like you're describing Guilty Crown more than Code Geass. Now THAT was a train wreck.
Code Geass was terrible and I enjoyed every bit of it.
The music was good, the action exciting, the ladies gorgeous and I got caught up in the plot.
But it was a terrible train wreck anime that did little sense, dropped plot lines left and right and made up new ones on the fly. Code Geass is the very opposite of the old "good idea, bad execution"
Code Geass' execution was brilliant and it would have been an unbeatable instant classic if the writers had a coherent idea about what to do with the plot rather than just a bunch of cool but incomplete idea nuggets that were never tied together properly.
Code Gayass wasn't complicated. it was a failed attempt of making Deathnote-like forced drama, only 25 times more gay
just because an anime has mechas doesn't make it better somehow. even the repetitive OST was horrible
and if you think AAAAAALLL anime is good, you certainly haven't seen series like Final Fantasy Legend of the Crystals
so you imply that people who dislike Code Gayass are moetards? son..
Was going to complain about the lack of KAMICHU! but it's at 33 on the full list.
I also adore PROJECT A-KO, TENCHI MUYO, PRETTY SAMMY (it's its own thing independent of TENCHI, so I'll list it separately), and WINDY TALES.
>Original.
>Madoka.
>It's almost a complete carbon copy of Kamen Rider Ryuki.
*reads first sentence of article again* "Anime originals – titles not adapted from manga, games and light novels..." I think you're arguing a different definition of original than this article intends...
And if you wanna say that about Madoka why not say Code Geass is a rip off of Final Fantasy 6, replace magitek armor with nightmares, replace the Returners with the Black Knights, replace the Gestahlian Empire with the Britanian Empire, replace the power of magic with the power of Geass, replace Espers with CC and her kind, Kefka and the Britanian emperor both seek to become gods, I could keep going.
make it easier. Replace everything with the Iliad and the Odyssey. Done deal, no arguments lol
Well, technically CG isn't a ripoff of FF6, just because it's similar in a lot a ways doesn't mean it's a ripoff. And even if it is, CG is still a pretty damn good anime to begin with.
Besides, if you consider that a rip-off, then how do you explain Illad and the Odyseey then?
He is just using it as an argument. Most stories nowadays use references from older sources, but it doesn't mean it was a ripoff.
Though I think first commenter is joking because comparing those two is far too retard
Now thinking about it, you seem to be right. Just not the ending
casual not even knowing what original anime means and also confirmed for believing trollchart and not watching ryuki
>It's almost a complete carbon copy of Kamen Rider Ryuki.
Explain in more detail please.
read the article. Original as in titles not adapted from manga, games and light novels, basically there was no source to get spoilers while the anime aired.
More like a complete copy of Bokurano.
At least that was acknowledged by way of multiple visual references.
Yes, except Borukano was much better.
Did we watch the same Kamen Rider Ryuki? I don't remember it being anything like Madoka.
Haters gonna hate.
Truth hurts for Madoka fans.
I don`t know, but I think the feeling of KRR and PMMM are not the same. And it is not like PMMM or KRR were bad.
I think someone once said that even plagiarism is art
Dude are you INCREDIBLY sure on your words? I watch Kamen Rider Ryuki too but both series shares no same elements AT ALL!!!

If we stipe most movies/animes/mangas of their definying characteristics and mantain just the plot, we have the same thing.
Just search for the hero journey. And if you really want to learn about cabon copy, go read Eragon.
>Nothing.
Make a contract with a shady person/being.
Once the contract is made you must fight.
Fighting pays for the wish.
Fighting takes place where normal people can't enter.
Killing monsters is beneficial for the Rider/Magical Girl.
Yellow dies first; Scissors/Mami.
Blue fights to save loved one; Knight/Sayaka
uhmmm, anon, you just described an insane amount of different series.
So your argument is void.
prove nothing
