Same here, but then i remembered Rumiko Takahashi used many hair colors for her characters in manga tankobon covers. Ukiyo was much easier to recognize.
Makes an old fart otaku somewhat moved to see young cosplayers make older anime characters like these 2 from Ranma Nibunnoichi. Guess it was a classic, i loved it very much in early 90?s.

I definitely prefer Takahashi's early works over her newer ones. Urusei Yatsura, Ranma and Maison Ikkoku are some of my favorite anime of all time. In the Day 2 gallery, there's pics of a Benten/Lum cosplay duo which almost brought a tear to my eye.

It sounds better for some of us. When it's typed like ½ I just read it as "half" or "one half". A misinterpret from the past when japanese was a magic language from a magic land, I guess.
