Sword Art Online’s murderous propensity for killing off its heroines is matched only by its enthusiasm for doing away with the plot of the original light novels (hundreds of pages have disappeared into but 2 episodes), if the niggling complaints of purists are anything to go by – although fortunately absolutely everyone can agree on Asuna’s cuteness.

Kirito you wasted a perfectly good sandwich.
Well, at least she made them! Finally, a bitch who knows her job!
+1....
are you japanese?
Your just mad cause your too fat to get a woman to make you a sandwich. And no, that joke belongs to us fat ass lazy americans stuck on our Xbox360s, PCs and Android cell phones with no real lives outside of the Mainstream Social Society. ;)
Heheyhey, I detest that declaration! My ass is skinny. (I could care less if I'm a skinny ass lazy american stuck on my xbox360, pc, and galaxy player with no real life outside the mainstream social society - mainly cause it's true)
u forgot to mention that the bitch has the highest cooking level in SAO
All her life skills are maxed, her dishwashing is epic grade.
Is she planning to clean up (literally) after every boss fight?
Bitch knows her role, a first.
Sandwich is overrated anyway.
it's all about the san-do-itchi!
Two utterly pointless episodes. You can tell that something is amiss when the most emotional scene is the loss of a sandwich :/
To be fair, it was a really nice sandwich...
"I was protecting the sandwich..."
orz - sandwich expires-
that was pretty tragic.
idiot, it wasn't pointless, the two episodes was still part of the light novel. plus it shows how asuna started liking kirito.
It just the same as Mysterious Girlfriend X, you just can't quite put your finger on it.
I wouldn't be surprised if they catch up to the light novel sooner than expected...
so far the anime will only cover till the Phantom Bullet Arc and not till Allicisation
= n = they'll be only covering as far as ALO arc not GGO arc i think...
The only arc where Asuna wore cute clothes and they chose to omit that.
OVA
@picture #36
what a dumbass, who wears sunglasses at night.
Why does practically everyone look decent if their characters are supposed to look like their real selves (at least the heads)?
Only good looking people can be heroes, didn't you know that?
I guess they lost some weight after being plugged into a machine and not being able to eat...
Technically their avatars don't change since the day they calibrated their systems, but yes, they're all likely emaciated corpse-people with atrophied muscles in reality.
Or its all a dream or they're being treated as comma patients "irl"
wanna answer your call, so dont read if you dont wanna get spoiled:
in the novel they are treaded like comma patients and yes they will all look really slim, fragile etc.
They're technically polygon representations, and if examined closely it's pointed out that many imperfections were omitted and generalities maintained (no facial blemishes or marks in-game and such). Primarily the only thing kept in player model is facial structure and hair (and apparently coloring), the rest is avatar fill-in-the-blank.
because this anime is terrible
No, it's great, troll.
your lack of an intelligent rebuttal does not make me a troll. and if I am a troll why would calling me a troll offend me you derp.
must check this out
I like a lot the anime, that being said they do seem to be going too fast.... i dont know i am sort of enjoing it because of these its obvious that they are skiping a lot of story, the last 2 episodes were boring.
Sadly the last two episodes are anime-original plots but in the 1st novel the story is skipping even harder until the point where Asuna and Kirito realise each other.
Actually the last 2 episode is from novel volume 8, not anime original
IMHO Asuna is too boring and generic heroine. Yoruko and Sachi were much cuter.
Shut the fuck up you little whinny hipster.
In you are judging only by anime – wait a bit or read the novels. Asuna is awesome.
Shut up! Dat Tomatsu Haruka..
the scanner didn't scan their genitals
They did... read chapter 16.5 xD
Don't watch animes who will never have a end
So i suppose that i was right to skip this anime?
Nah, it's really good, the animation team/director is just really fucking up the flow of the story. Here's hoping we get to the good stuff AT LEAST by episode 7, they did confirm two seasons after all... now if we can only know if it was two seasons of 12 or 24, then we can get talkin' :D
So the first one is just SAO and no ALO and GGO?
orz - I want to see Shinon.
I presonly didnt care much for the GGO story line sure it was his longest book to that point but it really felt content wise to short I mean come on it takes place over the course of basicly 2 days and yet still took 500 pages in the translated version I read 2 days works ok in book form but if they animate it I can't see much for 6 or 12 episodes. Though I guess GGO as an OAV could work but I dont see a 12 or 13 episode series out of its content.
"(hundreds of pages have disappeared into but 2 episodes)"
You know what I have to say to this?
GOOD!
How anyone who has actually read the novels can possibly enjoy the side-stories in their written form is beyond me. For most of them the author simply cannot write from a female first-person perspective without making a character completely vapid and motivated only by "pure virgin love" (and this is universal for every one he attempts). While this particular side-story is at least written in Kirito's point-of-view, it's still, at least in my opinion, not very good. A lot of what is missing in the anime is fluff and introspection that frankly just cheapens the characters anyway, so good riddance to it.
I will say this. The anime? It's fun to watch. It's pretty and well-paced, and even the really terrible to read sidestories like the loli-girl's have been entertaining in anime format. Therefore all I can really say is "keep at it, anime-people", because I'm excited to see how much they can make the actually decent main story from the first novel stuff (which they haven't actually started to touch yet).
It was bound to happen that they would deviate from the original material at some time, since the series is going for 25 episodes. What has many people's panties in a wad (besides the killing off of heroines, except one) is that it deviated so damn early in the series.
Frankly, this will most likely be the best original content for the series unless a future, not-part-of-the-light-novel arc does better than this one.
For all I can tell, it doesn't come up with original content just yet. All they've shown is from the Light Novels, including side stories. They're just aligning them chronologically rather than all over the place like in the LNs.
The SAO side stories are fine if you like the SAO game, considering how much detail that the author put in the world, and it's quite consistent (except the fucking ghost on the end of the episode).
GGO on the other hand...
