Ga-rei Zero was an awesome series that not many watched. Totally agree on Yomi.
Yomi should have been no.1 on such list. But this polls are made by the most otakuish population of Japanese anime fans and they are famous for their short and small memories along with bad judgment.

Also, all Madoka characters too dominating. Kaname Madoka should be expelled from that list, because her fate isn't too tragic to be at that list.

I have yet to see Sawatari Makoto on any of these lists, slowly dieing over the course of 3ep. She then gets her only wish granted while she was too far gone to understand it and then vanishes right after. That is what tragic is all about not Izumi... They only consider it tragic because she was hot.
Even Nagato, Endless 8 anyone? It was hard enough to watch it 8 times never mind the millions of times she had to experience it.

I usually don't like these lists because people easily forget the past...
#7 doesn't even belong here. Show was too mediocre to even evaluate the characters effectively when the show itself didn't settle on what it was trying to accomplish.

I really can't agree with Kaname Madoka. I think she's extremely happy with what she did and doesn't regret it at all.
Why is Sachi ranked on the top 3?
Sure, she dies, but she looks like she accepted the idea that it was bound to happen, whereas a certain other magical girl that unexpectedly goes headless horseman.
I also call BS on Saber & Minori being on the list as tragic girls; there are other female characters that deserve more to be on the list.

Sachi, from SAO??? ...seriously, she was in one lousy episode and even that episode was more or less forgotten in the next one.
Where is Rika from Higurashi!?! She's forced to watch all her friends and relatives die and/or turn psychotic time after time for thousands of times... Not to mention the fact that she is also killed every time, and quite brutally too.

And that she was fully aware of it but did it because it was the best thing to do.
