At times, she makes Naruto seem like an intellectual giant. And he isn't exactly known for his brain power either.
people really need to stop exaggerating (Kaname) Madoka's crying. If anyone were to actually watch it, as opposed to hating on it for being popular, they should see that there's a pretty fair amount of shit going on in her life: friends suffering mental breakdowns if not outright dieing, the realization that she's able to end a good deal of human suffering but only if she makes a huge sacrifice (a realization that's constantly drilled into her brain by a demonic plushie), etc. And it's not as if she didn't actually take charge and fucking do something throughout the middle, either... it's just that some of her actions ended up with less than desirable results (Sayaka+truck ring a bell?).
She cries a lot, sure, but it's all pretty much justified. But you know, I think contemporary internet culture is mostly to blame for always assuming that "crying=emo bullshit". Seriously, can't a character just cry because they're genuinely distressed and emotional anymore (manly tears, oddly enough, being exempt)?
