i thought nisemono was quite a bust for a sequel, couldnt compare to bakemono in terms of engaging storyline. it was mostly a visual fanfare.

The Anime DID live up to the original novel.
The main reason for that is because NisiOisiN was just dicking around in Nisemonogatari. He never expected it to become as popular as it did. The later books return to the writing style of Bake so you'll be fine in that regard.

I gotta say, most of those scenes look better the original way instead of the BD upgrade (if I can call it that) like for instance:
TV 063 & 069
BD 064 & 070 pics. Horrid.
I have mixed feelings about the changes with 069/070. While I agree 100% that the eyes were better in the TV version, all the other changes look better, imo. 063/064 looks like a stupid change to me, but I'll have to watch it again in to make sure (I can't remember everything about that scene). It could've been one of those funny face moments that didn't have an actual funny face to go with it, in which case it, it seems like an appropriate change.
I wholeheartedly agree, BD “upgrades” look like downgrades in 90% of them. In a few of them it seems like they thought “more light = better”, what?

63-64 might be the wrong way around (63 is blu-ray, 64 is DVD). I don't think they're known for being consistent with the order when they post these comparisons.
I think you got it wrong. The comparison shots are shown blu-ray 1st and tv 2nd. So it's after and before shots.

was so silly was disappointed with this serious . Best part of the series was him finally gettin sex with his g/f and the last episodes when he fought the monk person. Loved the philosophical debate about good and evil in that. To me I just forgot about the rest of the episodes except the last two.
