"a certain studio has ceased the victor’s laurels".
The correct word here is seized.
Who gives a hoot as long as the message is understood by the recipient? kthxbye.
I think Leon is already sleepy when writing this post.
It's funny, I'm a non-native English speaker and I can't imagine getting stuff like this wrong. Or things like "should have" vs "should of" (oh god I can't stand when people do that). I guess it might have something to do with me growing up learning to write English at the same time as speaking it, as opposed to people in America or England who speak it well before learning to write.
Your post brings to mind those non-native speakers who preface their posts with, "Sorry about my poor English", then proceed to write more competently than 95% of users on the forum.
To be correct and proper, you need another comma after 'speakers'.
Probably because we, non-native speakers learn formal and correct English first.
But not me, I learned with video games and internet.
Well, I am American, and when I am president, my first act after swearing in is to have the Too Stupid To Breed Act passed, which requires sterilization for anyone over the age of 12 who misuses "loose" and "lose." Also "their" and "they're".
Yeah, I realized that after I typed but write on the phone sucks. Also, as I said before, I learned most of my English from games and internet. Had I learned a little latter it woul have some serious contamination of catspeak.
Actually he needs it to be: "Probably because we, the non-native speakers, learn formal and correct English first."
or
"Probably because we, the non-native speakers, learn formal/correct English first."
If you want correct, yet informal, English.

It's nice to see people actually bothering to write correct english sentences. I wouldn't know how to do that and thus just write what I feel like. Poor grammar probably would get on my nerves, too.. If I was a native speaker that is.
every time people write "of" instead of "have" it enrages me.
Same goes for their, there, they're
I 'should of' known there'd be grammar police here.
That's because they don't understand that "should've" is a contraction, not "should of".
But you can't fault them so much with its/it's and they're/their because English is inconsistent with its own contraction/possessive rules and special cases a lot of constructs.
My favorite is the singular, gender-neutral "they", which grammarians love to lambast even knowing that it's the only option available, and is widely accepted.
When it's assumed that you should be able to speak a language fuently (ie, as a native), no one seems inclined to make any effort to check. General approach to life here in the UK: hoping everything is as it should be.
Although poor/ mispelling undoubtedly makes some contribution to the twitch-worthy posts on here
It also comes from dialects, people talk certain ways and that translates into the way they write. I'm from Scotland myself and I can't help saying "Aye!" and "Wit?!" and "Moan then ya fanny!" when I'm typing to my friends. Those were just examples but its just people typing the way they speak, at least in most cases.
Sometimes you do just get the illiterate dumbasses who're so ignorant that they don't even know what they're typing, but who associates with them beyond "Stfu" or *ignore* anyway? :P
Worse in several cases when you are in doubt and appeals to translators like google. It does not help and mixing words, and if you not correct the text end even more incoherent.
Another thing is user who uses this story (you write wrong.. dumb) upset with any comments contrary, and offend in personal way.
As for the topic, most animes are unique to the Japanese market and has no interest in pleasing otaku of foreign countries. There is no point waiting otherwise, if fashion is Moe or yuri accepted or watch other anime.
"I guess it might have something to do with my* growing up..."
Yes, yes, very intelligent writing.
Sorry, but "me" is perfectly acceptable to use in that sentence.
We native American speakers take for granite that we speak right.
No, it's just that you're actually aware and intelligent, and American arrogance makes it so that should you correct our mistakes in our own language to our resident stupid people, they either get angry at you for their own idiocy, or say "Whatever, you know what I meant."
Put simply, much of our culture is pretty pathetic in terms of language.
more like, most of our culture is pretty pathetic in terms of people who care about correct grammar, but thankfully, none of them will become english teachers.
>implying only Americans do this.
You're a dolt.
You're counting on a site that displays a lot of porn for correct grammer.
Seriously.
It's grammar.
I made that intentional.
Honestly, I was going to stop reading this "I'm not American/British but I can write better than you" whining but had to say well played to you Anonymous 08:17 14/07/2012.
Right, someone must explain me te "toggle visibilty of adult contents, when on the sides there are vibrators, fake vaginas, porn videos and stuff like that...
Oh, I forgot; That is "ADVERTISING" to substain the cost of this "Information Site"... ^^
Hey, grammar is important. Everybody reads Playboy for the articles
I read Playboy to find the bunny. Sometimes I have to look really hard
Space brothers is so under rated! o.o
Space Brother and Hyouka is the only anime I truly enjoy and wait impatiently for them to be available..
After that, I quite enjoy Dusk Maiden of Amnesia and Accel World, and for Kore wa Zombie Desu Ka? Of The Dead, Mysterious Girlfriend X and Sankrea.. they are alright
Hyouka is boring. Yeah, it looks good, but DAMN, it's BORING.
i watched the first season of Zero and somehow got a corrupted batch of eps, so 13 eps later of pretty much just reading subtitles, and blocking my eyes from uncolored pixelations, i find myself hating the ending more than anything else.
be careful what you wish for.
i thought it was entertaining
It may be boring to you, but I thought it was incredibly good.
Is it boring boring or is it K-ON boring?
yup
I wanted AKB0048 to be on the list :(
just one thing, why just add 2 zero's? like they couldn't make it AKB2148? whats the point of the 2 zeros, besides being place holders?
You say that like you know what the point of the 48 is.
Better yet just make it
AKB0000 that would be great.
ACCHI KOCHI on the 20th? DafuQQQ???
I kinda disappointed with Kore wa Zombie Desu Ka? Of The Dead.. The first season totally hook me up, but in the second season I think there are only two episode that is alright, and the rest really let me down..
There was no second season of Korean Zombie Desk Car. There was just a pathetic attempt to cash in on the franchise that made Niseomonogatari look like it was trying by comparison.
The second season is disgusting and creepy as fuck.
Yandere Kyouko made it tolerable.
The way you say that, it makes me want to check it out, but I remember to well how boring the first season was. Is it really disgusting and creepy? Like in "fun to watch"?
The moment i saw Kuroko no basket and Kids on the slope on the Top 5 i knew this list is invalid.
Good job on another non-sense crazy list, Sankaku.
More like why the fuck is Hyouka at #1
Because people are fucking stupid sir.
The mysteries aren't even scooby doo level but the animation is great, and as long as its shiny, people will love it.
Because they are dumb.
You should already know why.
KyonAni, K-onAni, KonaAni, etc.
If the show contains more than 1 dude then it's BL.
Haha, that's what some stupid fujoshi i met the other day said lol
true, kuroko doesn't belong in the top 5, but Kids on the Slope deserves its spot.
Yeah, i do think kids on the slope deserves the spot. Kuroko should be somewhere in the 20s lol
Why can't you just call it Sakamichi no Apollon?
Kids on the Slope was incredibly good "you uncultured swine!" XD
